I have finished one of the bookmarks and I love it. (I started with the pink and yellow vine themed one.) The finished bookmark is much prettier than the product picture shows. I would recommend this project for someone who is at least an advanced beginner. The cross stitching part didn't take very long, but the back-stitching, satin stitch, french knots and turkey work took several hours (approximately 15-20 hours of total work, including ironing and finishing the back...though it may have taken me a little longer because I had never done turkey work before).There are a two small issues that are easily taken care of. The first issue is that the thread comes presorted on cards... once you pull one free there is no way to re-attach the thread to the card. I solved this problem by using a small hole punch to make holes above the colors on the card. (I actually found this far less irritating than purchasing a kit where the thread is not sorted at all.) The second issue is that the kit does not come with a back for the bookmarks. I used a piece of white felt and some fabric glue to cover the back and it turned out very nice.The bookmarks are large. I wouldn't use one in a paperback book, but they are perfect for large hardback books. I actually gave the first one to my mother as a gift to use in her family bible. After finishing the first one, I can honestly say that I would have paid a lot more than they are charging for this kit. The instructions are easy to understand and the quality of the finished product is really nice.

I'm still in the middle of stitching the two bookmarks. I love how they're turning out. For as small as they are, they require a keen attention to detail. Because the kit includes two separate patterns, that may be stitched side by side, I find that I must be ever mindful of which pattern I'm actively working so the appropriate set of threads are used.

Looks absolutely gorgeous, although I wouldn't recommend it for beginners.Two major problems for me:1. You can't reattach the strings back to the organizer card once you pull them out, which makes it really hard to organize...2. I would like to have more stitch cloth (not sure what it's called actually...), so the back of the bookmark wouldn't have to be on the outside... I used all of it and glued the two pieces together since I made it for my boyfriend as a gift.

These bookmark patterns are lovely, even prettier made up than the picture might indicate. Don't let the size fool you though, they're fairly difficult especially the blue one. This isn't a one-sitting project, but the work is ultimately worth it. An important note, the kit doesn't come with any backing for the book marks. I used adhesive felt on the first one I made, but may need to use something a little more durable and that affixes better on the next one. Overall, a fun, unique project.

I am new to the cross stitching. And I didn't have problem to figure out how to make this project. It is very atractive design, not tacky like many cross stitch kits. The only downsize is luck of the detailed instructions for finishing, after the stitching is done. It took me consultations with my quilting friend and the seamstress to figure out how to make it look good. And it looks great. I don't like the golden ornaments so I just didn't use them.

I bought this because i was bored and i thought they were really pretty. My 2 oldest children like to read and i made them for them. It took me quite a while to get them done, because i don't have a lot of time to do things like this. But this was perfect. It kept me busy, and they were beautiful when they were done.

The bookmarks turned out beautiful. The instructions were great. The quality of the floss and threads was great. The colors were very nice. This is not a project for beginners though. It had some more intricate stitches on the wonderful pattern.

This is beautiful but the finishing is not for beginners. It’s one piece of Aida and you need to cut out the bookmarks yourself and finish them. Would be much easier if the bookmarks where already shaped. Due to this I would not recommend for beginners

Buona qualità della tela, ma occorre sapere l'inglese o il francese per capire cosa fare:per fortuna so il francese perchè altrimenti lo avrei restituto.Bisogna lavorare molto, addirittura costriurlo, e usare la colla apposita per tessuti per rinforzaro.Inoltre, bisogna conoscere molto bene non solo il punto croce, ma anche il punto nodi e il mezzo punto croce: pensavo che le cose fossero più facili e sono rimasta un pò delusa, anche se spero che l risultato sia ottimo.Francesca

The kit arrived quickly and without any damage. The stitching is challenging, but if the instructions are followed a beginner could complete the work. This is not a weekend project, but will take multiple hours to complete. The kit does not include any backing, so each person has the option to finish the book marks however they prefer. This can lead to extra time and costs, which should be considered. The floss comes in the new format that dimensions is using (they glue the ends to a labelled paper), so there will be no floss sorter included in this kit.
