Hasn’t failed me yet (3 months in). Bought a cheaper one and it broke within the first couple of weeks. I’ve also been able to fit slightly larger (due to plastic coating) rechargeable batteries and it’s saved me from unnecessarily going though « disposable » batteries on a weekly basis. Great features and a handy remote as well, the slow setting is perfect for a mobile above a baby’s crib.

I was so excited when I saw this product..... 3 speeds, rotates 2 different ways, has a remote. What more would a person ask for. Well, maybe a product that works. Came with a dead battery. Was hoping that was the problem so run to the store and pay 6.49 for a battery. Nope that was not the problem. The problem is this is a piece of junk. To pay this kind of money for a manual on and off with one speed? If that is what you are looking for than this is the product for you. It was not what was advertised and not what I was looking for. This junk is going back.

This is an update and unfortunately a downgraded review of this device because it does have a very annoying flaw.The battery dies on these units, even if you barely use it. I’ve used it for a couple of hours, and then, if I don’t use it for let’s say a month or so and I go to use it it’s completely dead.I replaced the batteries. Use it for a couple of hours and everything seems fine. Then I don’t use it again for a few weeks. You would think that the battery would be OK but NO, it’s completely dead. Something about the design of this unit seems to have the battery engaged even when it’s not in use. It’s the only thing I can think of that would cause it to die so quickly. This is pretty annoying when you have it mounted on the ceiling and you have to climb a ladder every time to switch out a battery when you want to use it. And the only way to stop it is to obviously remove the battery when you’re done using it. incredibly annoying. I know it’s cheap, but this is so basic it cannot be ignored.I’m on the hunt for some thing. That’s pretty much exactly like this, but doesn’t drain batteries.Original review belowI’m not sure what people are complaining about. This works perfect for me.Yes, it does look like cheap China stuff. Not sure how long it will last. I guess we shall find out. But out of the box it functions great for my 8 inch disco ball.UPDATE:So I still do like the item, but I must agree with some of the other reviewers. It does go through batteries quite quickly.Comparing this to the motor I had before, which would last so long that I barely would even think about changing it. This one started going after a couple of months. Mind you I don’t use it every day. Maybe twice a week for an hour or two at a time. So to me that is a lot of battery usage.Also, the Remote leaves a lot to be desired. It does its job, has the functionality, but being one of those cheap membrane type remotes, I question how long it will last.For those of you using the remote, and it is not working and think it’s the remote that is malfunction, it is most likely the battery in the unit itself.When the main batteries die, it will not pick up the remote.

I was looking for something that would go around continuously not just when the wind blew and so far this item has done the trick. I don't have it on all the time just when I'm out on my deck so I'm not sure how long the battery will hold up before I have to charge it up again but so far, so good. Am happy with my purchase.

This almost spins a little too fast for my 16 inch mirror ball but otherwise it is great.
