I have a stereo console from 1965 I was updating. After replacing all the speakers I tried and tried to make the original grill cloth work but couldnt. So I started seaching solutions. I contacted several companies about custom solutions but none would get back to me and it seemed they were going yo be expensive. I was hoping to get it completed before my mom, the orginal owner, came to visit. So I ordered this thinking it would be a quick temp fix. Well I will say its turned out to be the fix and inexpensive as well. I read the reviews but mine came promptly and was not creased. Worked great and my Mom was very happy to say the least!

I just received this and have promptly returned it. It was folded 3 times into a square and stuffed into a generic shipping bag then shipped in a box that is big enough for it if it had been rolled, and not folded, as described in the advertisement. The consistency and feel is the same as that of a sponge hair curler. It is a sad looking gray, not black at all, and is shiny like plastic. Think CHEAP. I purchased this to re-grill a pair of vintage 1970s speakers, but this stuff is way too cheap, and even if I wanted to use it, it has far too many creases from being folded several times and then literally stuffed into a generic mylar mail bag that was way to small for it. The edges are wavy from the folding. Disappointing waste of my time now that I have to fit a trip to UPS into my busy schedule.

My old stereo speakers foam covers disintegrated and I have needed something to cover them and finally found this. I bought this thickness as it was not too expensive. It cuts easily (I used a rotary cutter and had no problems). Thicker foam would have been better, but I did not want the expense. This works for me.

This stuff was a great thickness to use inside metal grilles to make a set of MarkBass cabinets less garish. A spritz of 3M77 on the inside of the screens worked perfectly.

The product is of poor quality. It does not measure as promised: too small in both dimensions.
