They have a sharp-point and long-eye like an embroidery needle but run only in the upper size range like a tapestry needle. Slightly shorter than embroidery needles. Longer eye allows multiple strands of some threads to slip through more easily. They are good for fastening the ends of couched threads. Available in size 18 with comes in pack of 6 needle.

So..I bought this item thinking that a "six pack" was one pack with six needles. Nope, I got six packs of six needles each! I had to sew together two very thick pieces of cording (think heavy duty backpack straps), and after much research, I decided that a Size 18 needle was the right fit. I don't know anything about sewing or needles. I bought these, some heavy duty thread, watched several videos on YouTube on how to backstitch, and got to work. It turns out that it's really hard to manipulate without a needle pusher, but I managed to get it to work. The needles were very sharp and that certainly helped. I had trouble making the backstitch look good, but that's because of my poor sewing skills and not the needles. At the end, I actually did a decent job and repaired what I needed to repair. I kept two packs for myself and gave 4 packs to my mom. Very, very happy with this item, and so happy I got 36 needles instead of 6.

I have no idea how to review these. I got them for a project I'm doing. I am sewing Fiber Optic lights into a tactical backpack using Kevlar thread. The needles fit the tread and are wicked sharp. I know understand what a thimble is for...LOLThey poke through the backing and tough material of the pack just fine and I will finish the project having just used one needle. So if any of my team like the results of this project, I will steer them towards these needles and the Kevlar thread.

Used this needle with nylon thread to repair a backpack. Worked great. It's an outstanding needle. The king (or queen?) of needles. Good price and well respected amongst other needles in the needle community :-)

Used to sew up a ripped couch cushion. Very high quality including the packaging. Extremely thick for my use but I was using upholstery thread and needed a larger needle eye. Would recommend

For tucking your ends it has a fine point allowing quick and easy weaves however the eye is not big enough for yarn over 4 strands. I recommend this product
