This is a decent quality filter, and it would have worked well for me. But I returned it once I realized I needed the 1" version and not the 1/2". However, before that happened, I found another filter — sold here on Amazon — that I liked even better as it was a heavier duty model.Â
 I'm planning to install the filter on a sand point well and wanted one that would last for years — if not decades. (I've reviewed the Leefasy Filter as well.)If you're installing this Cotonlake Filter in a light or medium duty situation, I'm certain you'll be happy with it as it is well made, and you'll be able to receive it quickly because Amazon stocks it. The Leefasy ships from China. So, shipping time can take two weeks.

For anyone planing to use this in the USA, it does not fit a 2 inch pipe (it is too large). When I looked it up the DN50 / 2 inch designation seems like an Austrailan pluming designation. For my use case as a final particle filter for a rain barrel, I am not dealing with a high pressure system, so the gap can be filled with silicon or some other gasket material. The overall build quality of the actual product seems decent (should last a few years before the basket part will start breaking down in my opinion), but the poor listing of information by the seller does not help.

I wanted a neat bug guard for the drain pipe from my water heater drain pan since it provides an open path to inside my house. This stainless steel suction strainer really does the trick. The drain line is 1" CPVC so I had to heat the CPVC coupling until is was soft and then push the PVC end of this suction strainer into the soft coupling. After it cooled , the connection was very tight and secure. I don't think even an ant will be able to get through the mesh of this strainer so problem solved. It's probably a great suction strainer too.

We order the 2 inch filter.Their description shows a 2" ID.It's actually a 2 1/2" ID.
