plugged in it works, maybe to trim around paws and ears. but as for a small teacup poodle just even shave to 1 length all around battery won't last. that fact that it's cordless- is useless -maybe less than 10mins.,then plugged in the rest of the haircut.

The first thing I learned about using this cordless clippers is that 'ultra quiet' is a subjective assessment, especially if you're a 13 year old terrier who cannot stand up for more than 5 minutes straight. Even though we had practiced listening to the sound while enjoying a peanut butter lick mat, once we added actually touching the body with the vibrating, humming clippers, all tranquil thoughts went out the window. We are now practicing getting used to the vibration of the clippers against the body. This clippers is a good enough tool to keep moving forward in our home spa journey once a greater comfort level is achieved.As recommended by the manufacturer, I was able to scissors off the long wiry leg hair (A MUST!) and complete clipping/shaving all four legs in about 15 minutes using the guard comb that doesn't allow you to go too short to avoid nicking the lumps and bumps many old dogs have on the skin. Until my old boy gets acclimated to the vibration of the clippers, we're on a 'paws' before we tackle the torso.For a smaller dog with no undercoat this clipper set would be doable and the price point for the clippers and all the attachments is very cost conscious. This would be the perfect entry tool for those who desire to self groom 'breed appropriate for this tool' dogs.

This item has hooks on the end like a human hair clippers would and it is NOT designed for dogs AT ALL it rips their hair out becuse it gets caught up in the hooks at the end of the attachment would NEVER buy again
