The collar is strong enough to keep your dog from pulling, and doesn't seem like it would come apart. My problem with it is that the listing said it has a quick release buckle. In most cases, such a feature would allow you to put it on your dog with a clip of some sort. The collar I received did not have a quick release, instead you have to slide it on and off over the dog's head.
