Used it to replace the door spring on a 2003 Blazer. No issues at all. Install the tool 1 coil in from each side end of the spring to get the most compression out of it. Ratcheting boxed end wrench works great to operate this tool.

Had a little rust in the threads but a couple drops of oil and running it back and forth, you’d never know it. I oiled it before putting it in the toolbox. I may never need to use it again, even considered returning it, but it just works so good, that if I ever need it again I will have it. May even find other uses for it! Easy to use, good value. Fit in where it had to go. Best used with a ratcheting wrench.

The tools seems to work ok. It is awkward and a little tricky to use. I also removed the screw and put some grease on it to help it move easier when crammed up inside a door hinge.

Seriously buy this tool if you are working on the door springs, do not use the cheap steal ones the parts stores sell, i used one of those and it bent in where the bolts go and the ends bent straight. This tool held up and worked, fair warning i did have to use a vice to help compress it ill the way cuz that spring is strong under full compression, always be careful.

Directions in the package are brief. Make sure you open the tool up far enough to get each jaw in the very first gap on the spring on each end. If you compress the spring from any of the coil gaps, you wont get enough compression to get the spring out. Spring can still pop out on removal so be careful, wear eye protection.

It's a decent tool, for a cheap one. I used it on a 2000 s10 extreme. It did the job, however it bent some. The metal is thin, isn't very strong. If you need it to fix a few springs or doors, it will do it. This isn't one that your going to use for the next 15 years though.

Wear eye protection, if tool not used correctly spring could dislodge and go flying.

Works great, happy with this buy. Really didn't want to buy one of these to put that stupid spring back in but my home made one just didn't cut it.

Did it's job, only using two time. I don't know about longevity, but worked for door springs on truck

Was confused at first about how to open it up wide enough, the bolt goes into a collar which allows it to open up far enough to grasp the door spring.Worked well and was a fair bit easier than the screw driver and pry bar method.
