When your speedometer jumps its usually the speed sensor. This sensor is located at the drive shaft yolk at the end of the Transmission. First locate the harness and disconnect it being mindful of the 2-pin connector not to break it! Loosen the jam nut and unscrew the sensor. Don't man-handle it and break it off in the yolk unless you enjoy doing extra work trying to get it out. Just use a little PB Blaster and channel-locks. Clean the threads thoroughly with whatever cleaner you prefer and blast with a little air if you have it. Or just use a clean rag. Just trying to get it clean so the new one threads in easily. Screw the new one in all the way to the Tone ring then back it off a quarter-turn. Then set and tighten the Jam nut. Plug the harness in and use a wire-tie and secure the harness out of the way. Test drive it. Success!

After research on line this product appeared to be the one needed, however after receiving sensor it had the wrong connector. We considered returning but because of need and turn around time we decided to adapt this one to our application. Good price and the delivery was prompt. If planning to buy one of these be aware that there appears to be many different applications and you can not tell from the pictures provided that the pin configuration will be correct. A better picture of the connector and pins might have avoided this problem
