I just installed this so I don't know the longevity, so I will chime back in on that. I found the oem for the same price elsewhere, but I needed it sooner and that's why I purchased Dorman through prime. Dorman has been around for years and the warranty is great so I didn't hesitate to purchase. For those with the 4th Gen 4Runner's (03-09) take out the front two bolts holding the front diff arms in place and it will drop just enough to access the top two bolts. You will need to take out the bolt (12mm, the same as the actuator bolts) that holds the steering line to the crossmember which then allows you to take an extension and slide it under the line to get to the bolts. It will make sense when your under there.**Update**Worked for 3 weeks and quit. Had my wife turn the 4wd knob while I tapped the assembly and it started working again. Not sure why it got stuck, so I'm going to engage it daily/every other day for awhile. Will update later.

2020 Tacoma TRD Off-road. Been chasing this 4WD problem for months. Took the old actuator off and soldered the contacts and all that stuff. Cleaned contacts, everything I could think of without spending money. Slapped this in and boom, back in business!!!! Fit perfect and easy job.

I have research so much info online and forums. I knew my switch, actuator on transfer case, wires and fuses are all fine. So it’s have to be the ADD actuator on the front Diff. I bought changed it and it doesn’t make a click sound in January. It doesn’t engage. I tried several ways, even manual to see if the actuator is good part but it’s not. I couldn’t return it because I threw away my old one and passed the due that. I got a new actuator from Toyota dealership. Worked on first try. Don’t waste your money on this. They don’t have a contact information to talk to a representative. Wasted 230 dollars

The torque specs for the four actuator mounting bolts is 15 ft lbs (180 in lbs). The two large bolts that hang the differential to the subframe are 101 ft lbs. The gear oil capacity is 1.5 Qts and the type is Syn. 75W90 GL-5.

The case to this add is thin flimsy plastic and the electric connection did not match the truck properly to line up the pins and broke while attempting to install. Had to return and order an OEM add.

It worked and was fairly easy to install except one of the four bolts that hold it to the axle housing. Hard as heck to get to and can only manage a small fraction of a turn with the ratchet, maybe 1/16 of a turn/ 1 click on the ratchet. Took 10 minutes to get the bolt out but not the products fault. Just the design of the truck.
