I use this to couple a pinch collar to a regular collar on my Service Dog, just in case the pinch collar comes apart. It is only used when we are out and about and both collars come off when in the house.

This is a joke it’s tiny!! It’s about 5 inch length in total, it’s impossible to clip a dog on each end and walk them

Ok so this is kind of a double review... I'm going to approach this with two functionalities in mind. I hope you read this before purchasing so you can make an informed decision.It may be a little confusing to know what this is verses what it's actually claimed to be. When I first saw this, I immediately though that this was a coupler, so that you could have two dogs on one leash. The description even says it's "for two dogs".Great!No wait. How long is this? Um, look at the picutre in the listing. No, not the first one. I saw the first one and got this. Look at the last one. Yeah, the hand holding this. That's right... this is TINY. This would be perfect for walking two guinea pigs on the same leash (maybe. let's say hamsters), not dogs. Even chihuahuas wouldn't mush together with this. No way.So that's why my initial disappointment set in when I got this. It was NOTHING like I thought it was. This is TINY TINY. Got it?Still... I'm glad I got this. Let me explain.One of my dogs - she loves to jump and pull. Because of her active self, the harness is starting to fray a bit (not just a bit... dangerously a bit). So up until now, I've been clipping the leash to the fraying part that is where the leash is supposed to clip on AND this other part around the neck where the various straps come together and still have their full integrity. This way, if the original part rips, it will still be clipped to the neck. So no runaway doggy.I think that this will be a great way to clip both areas to the leash without compromising the strength of the leash clip. So, I'm really glad I got this.I will say that I'm a little concerned about the strength of the little clips that are on this. Will it hold through the force? Not sure. Will see over time.So I'm giving this a 3 star rating. The reason is - first, this is NOT in any manner long enough to couple two dogs together for a walk on a single leash. Don't even think about it. Not gonna happen. That would have brought this to a 1 star. HOWEVER... as a two point contact for a single leash on a single dog, I like the idea of having this... plus it'll distribute the force over two points and preserve the integrity of a harness longer. However, a questionable feature with this is the fact that the two end clips themselves are quite small and makes me wonder how much force they can take. Putting all that together, I think that a 3 star rating is fair.I hope you liked my review. I always try really hard to write reviews are are candid, honest, and helpful for your shopping decisions. I bought for the doggy stroller. It is perfect for hooking the 2 dogs in. Very short which is exactly what is needed for the stroller.

This double clip was exactly what I was looking for. However, the product description and combination of leash options can be confusing. I wanted the double clip to connect to a buckle prong collar and regular collar at the same time to use with the leash. This adds a safety catch if the buckle failed while on a walk. the clip would keep the leash attached to the regular collar, providing time to fix the issue. For that use, the short length is exactly what is needed.The description mentions using to clip two dogs to one leash. I didn't test that, but its hard to imagine the short lengths would work for that for all but the smallest dogs.

This review is for the short connector to attach a pet’s collar and harness together, not the long one to connect 2 pets together. I’m a pet sitter and some of my clients prefer a relatively loose harness for their pet’s comfort, but I’m concerned that the dog can slip out of it if provoked. This safety clip lets me honor the guardian’s preference while still connecting to the dog’s more secure collar as an emergency backup. The sewing and clips seems solid enough for even medium-large dogs (but maybe not huge ones) in an emergency, although I wouldn’t trust the clips as a long term/primary point of contact for the leash.
