Besides being a great fidget item for adults, it is perfect for helping students visualize the shape of a magnetic field. I end up giving these away to students, so when I come across one I buy a spare. This one works well, and comes with two magnets, a button and a bar. You can tell that they are polarized differently from each other. The magnets provided have a coating on them, which protects the plastic case from being scratched. Be aware, though, that rubbing uncoated magnets over the plastic case will scratch it. That is not a defect with this product at all. I paint all of my uncoated magnets that I wish to use with these plastic cased demonstrators. This is a decent product. Buy one for yourself and your kids!

The filings are just the right size for this demo and the yellow puck magnet works great, the plastic is more than clear enough, well worth it!!

I wanted stocking stuffers for my grandchildren at Christmas. The magnet is small enough to fit in a stocking. It comes with extra parts to use to show the power of the magnet. My grandchildren enjoyed playing around with them and seeing what the magnetic particles inside the plastic dome would look like with different situations. I would recommend this for an inexpensive scientific toy for children.
