It's got variable speed, and way more power than the cheap no name Chinese one. This ones probably made in China as well, but it's got way better hardware and bits. The chuck works well. The case is adequate, good stuff.

Dremels are great tools and this one didn't disappoint. It's a very nice tool with lots of power and torque. Very happy with the tool.

This was a purchase for my daughter, who makes jewelry out of broken china and needed it to sand the edges of the pieces. She likes it a lot and it works great. She did purchase another sanding attachment, which she says is a big improvement over the ones included, but it was an inexpensive addition and she likes the tool itself very much. I guess whether you will need to do the same depends on how you will be using it. Anyway, I consider it a worthwhile buy.

Upon first use this works very well! I have been using Dremel tools for years, and this new addition does not disappoint. I like the AC versions bteer than the battery variety. There is less bother with charging and battery cost as well.

I love the inclusion of frequently used accessories in one purchase! It saves you from interrupting your project and losing your mojo, just because you had to run to the store to pick up something that would make your crafting easier. I'm glad the Dremel company added the cutting guide attachment, and the sanding/grinding guide attachment. The user manual is well written and comprehensive, covering other commonly used Dremel options. This ends up being a "wish list", and you can refer to one source instead of having multiple manuals.

I purchased this to do some engraving on wood and I just love this tool. I also purchased the flex shaft and it gives me more control over the more intricate pieces. This is a solid tool with many uses and accessories.
