I needed to cut some tile for a kitchen backsplash project and this was the perfect attachment for my Dremel 3000. It was easy to attach and I used it to cut the tile to fit around about 14 single and double electrical sockets. I used a board as a guide to cut straight lines on my tile, but tried a few cuts freehand as well. I also wet the tile and bit with water from a cup I kept nearby while I was cutting. This kept the bit cooled down. All-in-all I was pleased with the outcome. I purchased an extra bit and ended up having to use it - but the first bit lasted a good long time. I am so glad I got this.

Was quite skeptical watching how easy it was to use on their youtube video. I needed to cut a hole in our bathroom next to the toilet to add an outlet and this seemed like the perfect tool. I didn't have an angle grinder but did have a dremel so I decided to go for it. Make sure to read the instructions thoroughly. Insert the bit almost all the way in and fully tighten the bit with a wrench and set to highest speed. Make sure to check it before every use as I noticed the bit had worked its way out. When that happened it got unstable and would get red hot. Re tightened it and it was fine. Fairly hard to get "perfect" cuts, but good enough to cut open wall tiles for an outlet hole. You don't need to drill a pilot hole either. Just gently go at it at a 45 degree angle and it'll work it's way in. You'll definitely want ear, eye and hand protection!

Using this with the Milwaukee M12 rotary tool. It works okay, the only complaint is that it is plastic and the thumb screw which is used to adjust the depth is tighten to the plastic which marks the inner part of this routing accessory. The problem with that because it's plastic, precision is not great and can slip. Changing depths after a few time it will like to move to a previous depth. It also does not always sit flat so you might be milling at a slight angle.

The Dremel 566 Tile Cutting Kit has a carbide bit which works well for cutting plaster in walls and ceilings. The supplied guide sometimes tends to slip a bit, and so must be kept tight, but not too tight as the holding screw tends to indent the plastic body and make depth readjustments difficult.Plaster cutting can also be done without the guide, using a steady hand. This technique was used to good effect in excavating plaster around wall-mounted electrical boxes. Take care not to hit metal - this can chip the carbide.Note that plaster cutting sometimes is only half of the job - there may be wooden lath to cut also. The Dremel 566 Tile Cutting Kit's carbide bit does not work well at all for cutting wood. To finish that part of the job, switch to a steel bit intended for drywall. This 2-step method of cutting plaster first using carbide then cutting wood using steel, with depth adjustments in between, is minimally invasive and does not crack the plaster, unlike a reciprocating saw which can do much damage.

Not so sure about the other thing. I use the bit for wood engraving projects.

This may work on tiles from a gingerbread house, but on anything other, like the ones made from clay, porcelain or ceramic you will only see yourself cursing why you believed this could even work. A Dremel ain't no tool to cut tiles - period. Not wall tiles and not any other tiles.Try it and fail, or get a real tool to get this job done. The big question is why something like this is even offered on the market, but hey... i purchased it too.

I purchased this tool to use with an older Dremel tool that I have had for several years. I wasn't sure if it was possible to use it with the Dremel tool I had, but I was able to install it after removing the cover on the tip of the tool that protected the threads this tool attached to. I used this tool to cut travertine tile I was installing on our kitchen back splash. Several of the tiles had to be installed around a window frame and around the edge of a snack bar which involved making several intricate cuts. The tool made these intricate cuts very easily and with excellent results. Although this tool could be used to make long, straight cuts, I used a wet tile saw to make those cuts.

If you've ever tried removing some tile that was in the way of an electrical outlet, you probably ended up on that page. Regardless of the reviews, you'd probably buy this.I got the bit and the diamond disc--the bit was hands down the way to go.It isn't going to make the job magically fast, but with 5 minutes of your time and a steady hand, you'll be able to correct any measurement errors without having to remove anything.
