I have a CNC machine that I've been using to do several engravings (maybe I'll post a video of this in action) and was struggling with the set of engraving bits I bought specifically for a dremel. It was a kit of engraving bits that I also got on Amazon so I thought that was really all I needed and boy was I wrong. I thought maybe my dremel wasn't powerful enough to do the engravings since the results I was getting with the first set of engraving bits were turning out jagged and not very clean. It also wasn't cutting very deep into the metal, so when the machine was moving it would get caught on spots and I could see the bits bending. Not good. I was afraid they were going to break, but they didn't. They didn't really work well either. So I thought well, maybe these bits aren't intended for hard metals (even though they should have worked with hard metals, or maybe I just didn't look into it enough) so I ended up finding the Dremel 9929 Engraver Diamond Point Bit. From the second I put this on the dremel my results were 1000x better! I was getting very clean precision engravings in some pretty hard metal. Not sure exactly what the metal was, but I was engraving a tactical combat knife so it had to be some pretty hard metal and it engraved like a champ! I haven't engraved too much stuff, but it has already been miles better than any other engraving bit I've tried (I'm a newb to engraving though). Anyone doing some simple CNC machining with a dremel, this bit is a must. Next I want to try glass and stone. We'll see how that goes...

I used it in my dremel to engrave a name, small sized, on metal. It turned out great!

This has been the first engraver I have owned where I can actually see the letters I have engraved without having to repeatedly go over them. I bought the Diamond tip but so far haven’t had a need to use it. Powerful little tool. Sturdy. Far superior than the $20 engraver I bought from Lowe’s.

Yesterday I decided to try my hand at engraving glass. I used a piece of 12"x12" left-over picture framing glass and simply copied an image placed under the glass with my Dremel engraver using the 9929 bit. It was surprisingly easy to work on the glass with this bit for quite some time.By the time the engraving was approximately 70% of the way complete this diamond-tipped bit had become all but unusable. The diamond point had completely worn down. I don't know how long I expected this tip to last but I did think that I'd be able to complete at least a single engraving. I am a little disappointed in this product mainly because these are not cheap bits. At about $11.00 or more a piece, glass engraving could get expensive very quickly. Still, while the bit lasted it etched the glass smoothly and cleanly and I was very satisfied with the lines I could create even on this first piece.

Fits Dremel 290 and engraves. That's all I wanted.

Lo quise ocupar para grabar en vidrio y como en 5 min se le desgasto la punta y ya no grababa nada, pésimo y muy caro
