I wanted to chase the 5/16-24 threads on the exhaust port studs of an 88 Twin Cam.The size of this die was perfect for that. An 11/16 socket and quick as you please the job was done on all 4 studs.

I ordered this assuming it would replace my 1†hex od threading die. This is 20 mm (.781â€) hex and works with none of my die handles. Quality looks good, with nice markings and appears sharp.

This die was exactly what I wanted. I used it to repair damaged threads on a 7/8-14 forcing screw on a wheel bearing tool I have. I didn't want to cut new threads, just clean up existing threads. It did so perfectly. The outside hex on this die is 1 5/8".

This die is NOT a 6 prong it is a 4 prong die, so with that it is overprice for 1 die.This picture is WRONG.

Company name is deceiving - I bought 6 different hex dies from Drill America. All are made in China and are of substandard quality. Caveat emptor.
