Point is tapered to permit entry into overlapping holes. Three symmetrically placed flats on shank provide positive grip in portable electric and pneumatic tools. High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Uncoated tools feature just the base substrate without any additional treatment or coatings and are suitable for a wide range of applications. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of toolholding systems. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging. Used to align existing holes prior to bolt or rivet installation.

Decent reamer. 3 stars because it got a dull area after 2 holes in A36. Still cuts fair, but very disappointing.

I have been in the heavy metal fabrication business for 45 years. These are a joke. Only good for 3 reams with top quality fluid in 1/4 inch thick A36 hot roll plate.

Needed these to avoid removing some steel pieces, but they arrived with a large hex shank, (1-7/16â€)Consequently they’re no use to me

It's not what is pictured. It came with a big hex head on the end not a shank for a drill
