I recently had to hand-sew some denim. As I was adding items to my cart (heavy-duty sewing needles and such), these popped up in recommended items. They seemed like a reasonable accessory, and something I might need, so I bought a package of them. (Plus, they didn't cost much.)I like them. They are quite simple, just little bits of silicone or something that you wrap around the needle to help pull it through. (This is an alternative to pushing the needle through with a thimble from the other end, and for me, using these resulted in fewer injuries than the needle-pushing.) I am able to get a good grip and to pull the needle without slipping, so I am happy.I think these will be especially helpful if you are trying to go through more than two layers (e.g., I have a pattern for some hot pads and other kitchen accessories, where adding the binding would be sewing through something like four layers of denim or other very thick fabric) or if you are working on upholstery/drapery fabric. These appear that they will last a long time. (If you have silicone bakeware, you know that it does start to break down after awhile, but you would not be subjecting these needle pullers to high temperatures so they won't have that same problem.) I do wish there was some kind of case for them, since the packaging isn't really suitable as a permanent storage location, but I will figure something out, and that is a minor complaint. (Right now they are just loose in a box of my hand sewing items.)

I don’t hand sew much but bought these to share with my mom who does. Glad I kept one for me because I have found myself using more often, really helpful in pulling the needle thru thick fabric.I rated four stars because they sent me green instead of blue and I think they should send what we order. Didn’t make a difference for this, I don’t color coordinate my sewing items but still….

Highly recommend!!! Before purchasing these, I was starting to get a blister on my finger from pulling the needle through tightly woven fabric. These make it so much easier and don’t hurt my fingers!

Sometimes sewing and/or darning needles are difficult to grip to pull through tough seams. These needle pullers work great to grip the slick needle to give you the leaverage needed to pull it through the bulky layers of fabric or yarn, maybe in leather (never tried), too. Love these and keep them in every pouch, box, drawer that I keep needles. Makes a great inexpensive gift for the seamstress, yarn crafter, or quilter.
