This tool will save you from having to buy a new axle and makes removing axles nuts super easy!Backstory: On a previous job, I removed the axle on my Toyota Prius and I completely destroyed an axle when trying to take the nut off. You see guys on YouTube take the nut off with an impact without un-staking the nut, and I made the mistake of trying that myself using handle tools. Doing so, completely ripped out the threads on my axle. The next time I tried to use a screw driver and punch to straighten out the nut before removing it. All that did was distort the threads on the nut and again, ruined the CV axle.My 3rd go around, I tried this tool and let me say, it's incredible. Night and day difference. You give the axle a nut a couple whacks with a mini-sledge and the nut is completely straight and removes super easy with no resistance. Wish I had known about this previously. Had never heard of a tool like this before but it's AN ABOSLUTE MUST if you're removing CV axles.
