My Fesley 1200 kit came with a puny 12†hi hat upper that is too small for me. I have to either have my the stand far away for my taller body and reach for the hi hat, or crowd my foot some to reach it comfortably. This mute cymbal was my answer. It’s a standard size hi hat and it makes the difference to use standard stuff. My foot is at a comfortable spot now and I’m not reaching to Alaska to play it. I used the trigger from the Fesley and I am happy. It also feels so much better with my sticks than hitting rubber. I do use the Evan’s hi hat mute pad for it I must say, it is no louder than the w hi hat it replaced but it feels a lot better and actually triggers so much better I had to reduce the sensitivity a little bit. I can see why higher brands like DWe are striving to use muted metal cymbals instead of rubber and plastic. It feels so authentic.
