I have this on a 55 gallon plastic drum for the purpose of providing water to my chickens (and not freeze). It was VERY tight to put on the tank, but works as you would expect. I have not done any "Testing" to confirm temperatures. While there is a thermostat on this device, I really only want to keep the water from freezing. The thermostat on the device only goes as low as 86 degrees F, so I have an external controller to turn on the band warmer when it's much closer to freezing to help save energy.It was worked as expected for my use. It will also apparently go as high as 300 degrees but I am not looking to go that high. There is an initial odor (off gassing) when first used. My only suggesting was to allow the temperature range to go lower for those of us who do not need the high temperatures.

This product does not go to the temp indicate but it will burn out your electrical indicator. My experience, I am warming water to 150 F and that is not going to happen. As for their stated temp of 130 C yeah don’t wait for that to happen. This product is a piece of crap. Save your money for a product that actually will do the job it is supposed to do.
