I used this to mount wood boards on the ceiling as well as acoustic panels which were installed with eye hooks into that wood. What would've taken like 3 people and a ton of extra time became a one man task and it was EASY. The lift worked perfectly and easily held up my 20-30lb ceiling panels. Has been reliable for use, and no issues whatsoever. It was also cheaper with this company than other ones. Also very easy to use and wasn't crazy to put together. I think it came in beat up packaging but the lift itself was unaffected. Would buy again.

Used it to lift 4' x 12' by 3/4" sheetrock onto the ceiling in a 970 square foot house. Did the job, groaned a little bit but then again so would I if I were lifting that kind of weight. I don't think it would like that for more than what we did and might be more dangerous if you had 10' ceilings. So keep the weight limits well within range. Use was a breeze, I've used these before though, so I knew what I was doing. A new DIY'er might struggle a bit with the instructions. Towards the end it did get a little wobbly but we were pushing its limits. We were using it to lift some sheets on an 8-foot ceiling. Keep a clean floor so it rolls well. When cranking up there was a sudden drop in the center pole that extends. We discovered that it's the cable slipping on the crank because we didn't have the crank out and aligned right so the cable was bunding up on one side of the crank handle. Keep your hand off the center column when cranking just in case and make sure your head is well below the bottom most point when cranking. Always keep an eye on your sheets. Helps to have a second person if you are lifting big sheets. But by all means on 4x8 sheets go for it alone. Anything bigger you may need someone to help guide it in place.

This thing really is impressive and great for the price, but I'd be really weary using it for anything more than 4ft x 8ft. It definitely starts to buckle a bit and isn't fully stable at holding larger pieces. On top of that, the heavier the pieces, the more likely the piece will crack and the thing cranks up as with each section of metal that cranks, the metal very loudly will shift into place. But hey for the $, ability to break down, and the ease of only relying the machine instead of other people, it really can't be beat.

This is a very good basic lift. It took me less than five minutes to assemble. I used it to sheetrock a garage ceiling with 4x8 drywall sheets.Just make sure the bottom of the angle post seats all the way in the lower leg assembly. Use outriggers when lifting sheets. Position lift arms at an angle, place sheet on arms evenly, then turn sheet to horizontal-flat. Be sure to push lock tab at top of post. Then hold brake handle, pull crank and release brake. Don't let crank slip from your hand while cranking. Get very close to ceiling and set brake. Don't bump crank or brake handle or things may come crashing down on you. Now adjust position of sheet, then crank up further till tight against ceiling. Install screws into joists then lower the lift and repeat. Mine worked great. I probably would not rely on it for long term commercial service, but great for a remodel.

A little squeaky and loose joints but does the job at a very reasonable price. Not commercial quality but, again, cheaper than a long term rental and I’ve put up over 200 sheets of drywall with mine.

Son-in-law used this for hanging drywall with a friend. It was easy to assemble and great to use. They moved 60 sheets of drywall from 1st floor up to the second story and then moved the jack lift upstairs to hang the sheet rock.

This has been a workhorse. We are DIY'ers & you cannot beat the quality for the price, no complaints. This is a great investment for anyone who has a lot of renovating to do.

This lift greatly increases the speed of installing drywall on ceilings and reduces fatigue. It also makes possible for one person to install a ceiling.
