We purchased a 2025 Silverado. It was lacking a little bass. So we decided to add a 10†sub and amp under the seat. This converter was exactly what we needed to be able to retain the factory radio and steering wheel controls. Sound quality is excellent. Couldn’t be more pleased. Installation was straight forward.

I really liked this product. I installed a powered under seat subwoofer in my wife’s car, but kept the factory head unit in place. This little device allowed me to tap into the speaker and trigger wires behind the head unit and run RCA’s to the sub, allowing for a super clean and hidden install.

The DS18 V2HL.V2 Line Output Converter is, in itself an excellent device. However, I believe my experience with it is unique to me due in part of how my car's electronics work (2017 Audi A3). The bass the DS18 reproduces sounded great, really loved it, but then I would hear "thump/humffpp" sound from the subwoofer whenever the car door is opened, and pops when car is started, and "thump/humfp" again when the car is turned off. To hopefully isolate the issue, I went through a long process of troubleshooting: (1) I "played" with the amp's Infrasonic Filter, Input Sensitivity, Bass Boost, and LPF Frequency settings, applying values from default to recommended to optimal and in-betweens, but to no avail; (2) with the exception of the 12v and Ground wires (4 AWG), I rewired everything with 14 AWG and with new connectors but the issue persisted; (3) hooked up an old 2CH Amp and got the same result; and finally (4) I bypassed the DS18 V2HL.V2 and connected all leads to the amp's Speaker Level Input where everything worked and pops/thumps disappeared, but of course the sound quality is extremely degraded. So I reconnected everything back together (to include the DS18) and resigned to "I'll just have to live with the pops and thumps" attitude but after a few days, the red LED on the DS18 stopped to turn on, and eventually the device seemed to have ceased working altogether as the sub would not produce any sound anymore. The manufacturer recommended to RMA the device for a replacement, but after some contemplation and research, I thought of getting an active LOC to see if the problem will go away, which I did and at this time, it is working without the pops and thumps. In conclusion, the DS18 V2HL.V2 is a great and affordable device, and great company as well that is why I opted for DS18 product in the first place. But I believe for my particular application, I found that an active LOC is suitable due to how the car's electronics are engaged upon just opening the door, thus the pops and thumps. Thank you to DS18 manufacturer for offering a replacement.

This line inverter has been through 3 different vehicles with me and the only reason it didn't make it to the 4th is because I didn't have time to take it out of the truck before I traded it in. Came back to buy another and couldn't find one. 🤦ðŸ¿â€â™‚ï¸

Using this product I was able to run two twelve inch subs paired to a 4500 watt amp using my factory stereo in an Audi with the Bose system
