It machines very nicely with sharp HSS tools.

It did have a slight curve to it but I clamped it between two boards overnight and it straightened out just fine.I used a belt sander to remove material and put a taper to it. Then I drilled a hole in the end and added a black doorknob. I used a fine sandpaper and then painted the taper.Now it is a walking cane.I like it. A lot. I may have my main character in the upcoming sequel to "Michigan October" or Michigan Gold" carry it.
