Generally, this felt is meant to be thrown away after it is clogged. Polyester has an excellent rating with water, vegetable oils from animals and plants, petro-oils, organic solvents and micro-organisms. Polyester has a good rating with alkalis, organic acids, mineral acids and oxidizing acids.

Great product. I bought this for making my own filters for maple syrup. I cut them and serged the seams and then sewed another seam to reinforce. They were used on a vacuum pump with 1 inch hose and clamped onto the hose and they filtered nice until it clogged. Then we just got another one. Use and pitch. I am sure you could wash and reuse in some applications but not ours. Plan on using again.

I use these to filter beeswax. Depending on how much is in the wax, it may take 2 maaaaybe 3 times but it gets it clean and is very sturdy

This is useful stuff. I'm sewing pre-filters for use with hiking water filter. Also socks to strain river water as I fill water sacks (for later microfiltration). I can't verify that this cloth filters to 1u but can say that it has good water flow and filters out visible debree.

I use this filter for filtering my beeswax - a must have for any beekeeper or beeswax candle maker. Gets the wax SPOTLESS. I run the dirty wax through some maplesyrup filters before i use this 1 micron sheet. This is the finishing touch. Just cut into circles as the sheet is huge and it’ll last you a while.

Good product... it was MUCH more than I needed but I was not able to find a smaller size. Works great!

This felt is terrific. I am using it for an inexpensive way to filter a small fish tank with ich. Nothing was working so I researched effects of filtering with small micron and water changes. I cut it to size for the filter and replaced daily for several weeks. 72" x 1 yard is a lot of material. I could make daily filter changes for months with this. I'm glad I don't need to because the ich now appears to be GONE! Something the chemicals didn't seem to accomplish. I will continue to use this and definitely buy more when it starts to run out.

We are using this material to filter the oil used in a home freeze dryer. We can cut this material into the sizes we need for the filtering container. The one micron filtering level is exactly what we need to keep the oil clean as it is reused in the freeze dryer pump. We were trying to find a filtering bag that fit the container, but couldn't find the right size. This option of buying a sheet of the material allows us to customize the size for what we need. Cuts easily with scissors.

I used this 1-micron filter material to make algae-catcher bags for my in-ground swimming pool. One bag attaches to an outlet jet in the pool, and it filters out green algae so it doesn’t get blown back into the pool. The cost of making these bags by myself was less than half of what I would pay in a retail pool-supply store. I used a purchased bag as a pattern, I used an 18-gauge sewing needle with heavy-duty thread on my sewing machine, and I ended up with two useable bags for the cost of buying one pre-made bag.
