I used to use lighter picks, and for certain things I still do, even use wooden picks on occasion. But these are my absolute favorite guitar picks for most things electric now. And I commonly I use them upside down, taking advantage of the very smooth rounded corners for fast picking, but will easily flip it back over during the same performance for more attack. It's like having two picks in one!

I primarily use the Eric Johnson Jazz IIIs but wanted to try some new picks. Paul Gilbert likes these (with some adhesive applied to prevent slippage), so I thought I’d give it a shot.Right now my alternate picking with these picks aren’t as fast with the Dunlop Jazz IIIs, but I have no doubt that it’ll get up to speed with a bit of practice and adaptation to its material.Because of its material, it makes for a rubbing tone, “scratchy.“ That can be a good or bad thing in context, so keep it in mind. I’ve read that Paul Gilbert likes that rubbing effect for a violin-like tone. I kind of like it, too, but prefer the definition and slipperiness of the IIIs. I do like that its standard size and thinner profile make it easier for strumming while still having a sharper point than the average pick.The printing does wear off quickly, so watch what you touch after playing.I think they’re worth trying out for the price. Recommended.

This is my usual pick, but the ink on this last batch I ordered comes off when I use it. The ink usually fades with time, but these left my fingers black and the picks all smudged.

Taylor 360e 12 string acoustic. .50mm jazz pick.Playing 12 string presents some unique challenges, that proper pick selection can really help overcome.The first challenge, is annotation of every string individually to achieve the beautiful natural chorus sound. I have found that picks with a more rounded tip do not strike deeply enough between the closely spaced string pairs, and often only strike the larger diameter string, or at least only lightly strike the smaller strings, causing more muted tones, than the bright chimes that should be present. The pointed tip of these picks, combined with the smaller thickness helps the pick strike more deeply between the string pairs and individually annotate the smaller strings for the perfect balanced pair sound, just like a 12 string is supposed to sound.The other big challenge this pick help address is muddy tones created by picking / strumming too hard. The .50 mm pick is the perfect thickness. It allows for a more gentle gliding over the strings for a nice resonating sound where each of the couplet strings are clear and distinct. Thicker picks can create an overwhelming vibration of the larger diameter strings, such that the lighter strings are overwhelmed, and the sound comes out muddy and overwhelmed.So, if you are a 12 stringer and you want a cheap way to really improve your 12 strings natural sound, try out these .50mm jazz picks. You will be surprised at the difference.

Gestern sind tatsächlich 72 Plektrums angekommen. Genau wie bestellt.Am Anfang hatte ich echt Zweifel ob es sich nicht um eine Fehler handelt und es nur 12 Stück sind.Super, damit habe ich wahrscheinlich die nächsten 5 Jahre ausgesorgt.
