In my honest opinion, this window film was easier to install than any other type I have tried, and it was significantly more affordable as well.My husband was on the other side of the glass, moving back and forth to test the film's opacity. He didn't know I was taking photos for this review, adding to the candidness of this feedback. The shadow in the second photo is from our porch light, specifically the trim around the porch.Initially, I was skeptical about the etched oval glass shown in other reviews, as it seemed partially transparent. However, after applying this film myself, I can confidently say it is completely opaque.Although I have had some prior experience with window film, following the instructions meticulously will ensure excellent results. Remember, water is helpful in this process. The film adheres through static cling, not stickiness. Don't be afraid to use more water than what you think you need. What's Included:This purchase is a kit. The tools are located inside the tube of film - a detail I only discovered after reading other reviews. You'll Need:A water spray bottle (set to fine mist)A credit card or small squeegeeA lint-free cloth (the kit includes one, but I didn't test it for lint)Application Tips:1. Measure the Area: Determine the size of the space you need to cover.2. Cut the Film: Leave about 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) extra on all sides.3. Clean the Surface: Wipe the window or glass with a lint-free cloth and rubbing alcohol.4. Mist the Glass: Generously spray the glass surface with water.5. Prepare the Film: Peel off the clear backing and mist the exposed side of the film too. This prevents excessive static cling during application.6. Apply the Film: Align it as accurately as possible and let it adhere lightly to the glass.7. Trim for Precision: Use the extra 0.5 inches for exact trimming once the film is in place.8. Trim the Edges: Carefully use the razor knife from the kit to trim the film to the exact size.9. Remove Air Bubbles: Start from the center and use a credit card to push air bubbles towards the edges.10. Ensure Smoothness: Continue smoothing until all air bubbles are gone.11. Final Adjustments: If further trimming is needed for a perfect fit, do so. Rewet the adjusted area and remove any new air bubbles with the card.By following these steps, the application should be smooth and the film will effectively obscure the view, ensuring privacy.

My son loves this on his windows. It doesn't let any light through and has held up well. I haven't seen any peeling after this time. Installation wasn't hard as long as you can cut in a straight line. It completely darkens a room in daylight, if all the windows are covered. The only thing I had trouble with is peeling off the backing. That was a pain, but so is most self sticking peel-ables. Make sure your windows are clean and free of any small debri so you don't have bumps in the film.

We purchased this product to prevent people from looking into our garage through the clear glass windows. The film was very effective in doing this while providing nearly the same amount of light as previously. Further, it seems to reduce the amount of heat entering our east-facing garage through the windows. We separately bought a rotary cutter and self-healing surface to cut the film to size. We started out attempting to cut the film to the exact size of the opening, but soon learned it was better to cut the product a bit smaller than the opening we were filling. This helped to avoid having to trim after installation. After cutting, the biggest problem we encountered was that separating the shiny backer layer from the film is not particularly easy. I ended up making a shallow cut into the backer and then using a knife at the cut to separate the two layers. We used a spray bottle with a drop of dish detergent in about 8 ounces of water to wet down the window and film. After the film was put in place on the well-cleaned window, we used a couple of credit cards to smooth out the film and eliminate bubbles. It's very important to have a clean window and to avoid contaminating the surface of the film that will touch the glass. We found that it's best to cut the film maybe 1/16" smaller than the window size, particularly on a recessed window. This allows the water to escape at the edges when the surface is smoothed with the credit card(s). The first couple of films we cut were a bit bigger than the window, and we ended up with more residual bubbles and further, it's not so easy to trim the film after installation. The kit comes with the roll of film, a microfiber cloth and a break-off knife to cut and trim the film. It's very well packaged in a sturdy clear plastic tube. The instructions were clearly a poor attempt at a translation into English.

We had a very good privacy film on our large shower window, but after 14 years, I felt it needed to be changed. This frosted glass film is much better than the previous. The film is thicker and has texture, from inside the shower I can see shadows of people walking by, but they see even less looking inward. Our window is large, 48" x 48", and finding a product with the width and length was not easy. The size options made this the perfect film. Because I was hanging such a large piece, I did need help, but two people could handle with ease. I still have some tiny bubbles, but I am the only one in the family that can see them. I am very happy with this product, it arrived quickly, very well packaged and in excellent condition. I recommend this cling film for privacy. The blue cushion hanging on the wall was also an Amazon purchase, it is perfect for the bench seat that is just out of site.

I have ordered for other rooms as well. It keeps it much much cooler in my condo compared to tin foil. The white reflecting out and black inwards keeps the heat down on the window also. I love that they are reusable and super easy to use! 10/10!!!!
