I’ve used one of these scalers for over 20 years, but recently misplaced it. So I bought 3 of these at less than a dollar each. 1 for the kitchen and the others for the tackle boxes. Can’t beat the price and value.

Found this item to be awkward to use. A serrated knife works better for me.

I can overlook the scaler not having a wooden handle (I might prefer that actually as it’s fewer places to catch scales and fish funk) but the scaling teeth are rounded so it’s not very effective. It was an inexpensive buy, not worth returning.

Used it on small panfish. It was quick and very easy. Clean the fish up, no scales.

I wish it was better made because it doesn't do a great job so I still have to go over with a with a regular knife to get some scale out
