  • Eliminates hum or ground loop noise while maintaining high-quality sound from your audio system
  • Industry standard 600-ohm impedance designed to match your A/V receiver's output
  • 2-Way signal converter - convert an unbalanced consumer-level RCA signal to a balanced professional-level XLR signal and vice versa
  • Compact rugged construction fits into nearly any Audio system, and can be mounted to any surface with its built-in mounting bracket
  • Home, mobile, and Pro audio compatible

Expanding on earthquake's line of audio problem-solving products: The ISO-200 ground loop isolator and signal converter. The standard A/V receiver output is 600Ω yet most ground loop isolators on the market today have 200 at best. When using these substandard products, your A/V receiver has to deliver 3x more current or compromise the output Level. The ISO-200 comes with an impedance of 600Ω right out of the box matching that of the industry standard. Unlike other products on the market, earthquake's ISO-200 is constructed with high-quality components and will not roll-off the low frequency response due to undersized transformers resulting in substandard performance. It was designed to kill off the dreaded buzz or ground loop noise while maintaining high-quality sound from your audio system. The ISO-200 is unique because it not only serves as a ground loop isolator, but it is also a 2-way signal converter. It will convert an unbalanced consumer level RCA signal to a balanced professional level XLR signal and vice versa. The compact and rugged construction of the ISO-200 allows for it to fit into virtually any audio system, and can be mounted to any surface with its built-in mounting bracket. This will give you a cleaner looking install and allow it to be hidden out of sight. When it comes to audio Noise and hum issues, Earthquake Sound offers great problem solving solutions for audio professionals and installers to the everyday Home and car audio enthusiast.

These solved a ground-loop whine in my car that was coming into my amp and through my speakers when the engine was running. I had tried both the Metra and PAC audio ones that failed to work, so I'm glad I found these quality isolators. Because they are passive they do lower the volume just slightly, but that can either be solved by increasing the gain on your amp, or adding a pre-amp such as the Cerwin Vega IOEMHL https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P25VU84/

Unbalanced RCA connections over 40 foot connection - no noticeable hum. Installed this buzz cleaner and a balanced cable over the same run for comparison -- massive hum! Waste of money.

I've been chasing ground loop buzz issues in my media system, which are no doubt self-inflicted due to my overcomplicated setup (computer source feeding a Denon receiver via HDMI, splitting out to vintage amplifiers via zone 2 RCAs, through RCA to XLR cables, to active crossovers, to ML electrostatic speakers). None of the speakers that are powered off the Denon receiver itself have noise that I can hear, only those powered by external amplifiers.I had previously used star grounding on all the RCA shields to the receiver chassis ground, and moving ALL equipment to the same wall outlet, which helped some, but not all of the problems (got rid of flourescent and LED bulb noise from other outlets/breakers in the house just by consolidating the audio/computer equipment to a single outlet). Ultimately, the noise was coming through the HDMI from the computer to the receiver, and then being passed to the amplifiers. This product solved 90-95% of the processor power noise passing through the RCAs to XLR inputs on the outboard crossovers. I'm still going to obsessively chase down the last bits of noise reduction, but all in all, this product is worth it's price and then some

I bought this earthquake sound ISO-200 box to try and eliminate ground loop hum at 120 Hz. I knew the hum was likely due to my PC graphics card or a DP to HDMI cable output to myTV, but even without the PC to TV HDMI connection, I still got hum. Anyway, this box will convert your RCA input to XLR and it works, but the ground loop isolation is not that good. I still heard a 120 Hz hum (though not as bad) with my PC on, and I was only able to fix it by buying a more expensive RCA to RCA Jensen Iso-Max CI-2RR RCA Stereo Line Input Isolator Hum Eliminator from Parts Express. There were situations when I tried to use the PC to TV HDMI cable where the earthquake sound ISO-200 actually amplified the hum.I don’t know why amazon doesn’t sell the Jensen Iso-Max CI-2RR (I couldn’t find it anyway), but with it there was like almost 0 noise coming from my speakers when i used it with two sets of 1.5 ft cables, and that’s with my ear right next to the speaker listening for hum.

It just depends on where you install them. I tried next to source unit and it still whinnnnned, Took 1' rca's and hooked em up by the amplifiers and moved them to a solo spot and very little whine left. Better go to the store for more wh ine...

Solved 100% my "HUM" "BUZZ" issue I had between a Onkyo TX-NR809 AV Receiver and my Powered Active Rockville RPG-15 . I hope this will be a permanent fix but so far I'm 110% Satisfied with my purchase.

I was optimistic that this device would remove the RF or hum associated with my turntable set up based on all the good reviews. My set up is as follows: Technics TT to Vincent tube pre-amp out to Tube equalizer out to Tube amp and finally out to AV receiver.Once installed, I noticed a loss in audio fidelity including bass. When I disconnected a reverted to my standard set up without the Earthquake, volume was louder, bass returned. The RF noise/hum was present with or without this device and really noticeable at high volume like 50db so it really didn't do anything except lower audio fidelity. Not sure why. I attempted setting up earthquake between TT and phono pre amp and got the worst noise, They I set up between phono pre-amp and equalizer and although audio passed through, fidelity was lost and apparent. Then I set up between tube amp and AV receiver, and same result with a loss in fidelity. Note that I have installed my internet router and internet connections as far away as possible from turntable and amps buy somehow get this weird RF signal. So the saga will continue for me. I will surely appreciate any tips!

Despite grounding, I have a hum/buzz between my Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 and Onkyo AVR. Unbalanced RCA connections. I installed the loop isolator and noise was completely gone. I was surprised and happy because a lot of products just don't work so well. The next day, I was ready to use my system, and the hum/buzz was back. I checked all the connections, relocated the loop isolator, etc., but nothing worked. Perhaps a better grounding system is needed. However, I will continue to trouble shoot and update this review as necessary.

TLTR: It worked like a charm in my case.Professional here. Had a massive hum problem on a high end system. Since this might help some of you I'll try to quickly describe the system. It was a high end stereo system incorporated into a home theater system. When listening to music the stereo system was using an integrated stereo amp with 2 digital sources and one analog source, no problems there. When the stereo system was switched to watch movies or TV, HT bypass was engaged on the integrated stereo amp and a surround sound receiver would handle all the audio and video processing. Important note, the surround sound receiver was connected to the integrated stereo amp via RCA connectors coming from left and right Pre Out outputs. The problem was I had a massive hum coming from projector's HDMI cable (8K certified optical HDMI cable). Couldn't fix it no matter what. Decided to give this thing a try and all the hum was gone just like that. The system is silent now. Would not hesitate to buy again.
