This stand is extremely sturdy, and heavy. I was going to use it to travel to gigs, but it's heavier than I expected. It's not a bad thing, actually. I switched it with my current lighter folding stand that I use for practice at home and use this one in it's place. The stand is so sturdy, I was able to attach a microphone to the stand and it holds it up perfectly. I'm actually quite impressed with the quality of this stand, and the heavy weight is a plus, since it eliminates my mic stand, so less clutter. The only downside was that the first one that was shipped came quickly, but apparently was damaged (rusted actually and looked used). But the vendor was quick to replace it, and I received it in a day. I would definitely recommend this stand, especially if you don't mind the weight for traveling. Additionally, the vendor was VERY responsive and handled my return perfectly.

I play the upright bass and am one of those who prefers to stand at gigs. I needed something solid with a rack large enough to hold an oversized orchestra/concert band folder and strong enough to support a stand light and a lot of music. The other important features were that the stand be collapsable (easy to carry) and tall enough so that I could see the conductor and the music without too much head movement. I’m 6’1†and the standard size wasn’t doing the trick.I tried several different brands and this is the one I went with. I used it for the first time at an outdoor concert last night. It was easy to set up and tear down and I appreciated the compact carrying bag. The stand was solid. I had no worries about it blowing over with some wind we had and the music fit well. I was pleased with the page holders as well. I was able to angle the rack to exactly where I needed it and it supported the stand light without a problem. What to be aware of that might be taken as negative? The stand is a bit heavier than expected, but I’m okay with that because I wanted something with enough heft not to get easily knocked or blown over. The carrying bag has two small handle straps. I was really hoping for an over the shoulder strap as well. That would have helped immensely as I transported my bass from car to stage. Finally, I did set up the phone holder in an attempt to be able to easily access my tuning app. I ended up taking it off the stand because it got in the way when bowing. I’m not sure if a different angle for the holder will make it better, but at this time I’m not optimistic. In any case, I certainly didn’t purchase the stand for that feature, so if it doesn’t work out, it’s not a great loss.

I don't play on gigs only playing accordion at home and for that it is perfect. Difficult to assemble because sliding the holder on the tripod is very hard. It is too tight. The nut to hold it in place is a joke because it will never get out. At least on mine. For my purpose it is perfect and the price is right. I don't use books on it only sheets and it would be nice if it had extension for more than 2 sheets. I use 4 sheets and placed a light weight 1/4" plastic tube behind the sheets above the two spring fingers and it works fine for me.Would I recommend it? It all depends on your personal application. In my case yes, it is working and I can recommend it. On gigs, I am not sure.

I’m learning to play the guitar, am taking on online guitar course, and have joined a beginners “jam session†group. Everyone in the group has a cheap, lightweight stand that can barely hold a feather (I’m exaggerating, of course). I chose this particular (more expensive) Eastrock model on Amazon because it appeared to be quite sturdy for (lots of) sheet music and my iPad (in the photo, my iPad Air 4 is displaying one of the online lessons I subscribe to). The music stand is extremely adjustable and appears to be powder coated. In one of the photos with the sheet music, the stand is in a lowered position for sitting with the guitar on my thigh. When standing with the guitar, the music stand is shown in a raised position (but not even to its full height). I’m very happy with this product. I think it would be a mistake to buy a music stand that is flimsy, but cheaper in price.

Needed a sturdier stand with a larger ledge for heavy ring binders of music) This works great. The ledge is 2" deep! Although the top does not fold, it JUST fits into my carry-on suitcase. I think it weighs a pound more than my "wiry," unstable, completely foldable stand. Worth it!

Very sturdy and easy to set up or take down. Sturdiness adds to weight, so a little awkward in portability. Just 'way bigger than I expected it to be. I'll have to return it.

The stand is easy to put together, and accommodates a tall guy like me standing as well as sitting. The stand can sturdily hold an iPad for music as well as landscape-published organ music. The phone-clip is a nice addition!. I love how portable it is, and the carrying case is roomy enough to include a lamp I purchased! This is a GREAT music stand! Good job EastRock!!
