We purchased a low cost 4/4 Cello. My wife and I are watching YouTube, and teaching ourselves. There is no point in paying for expensive lessons initially, knowing that many hours will be "wasted" on elementary concepts. When the basics are mastered, we will take lessons locally. Although we keep our Cello on a Cello stand, "somehow" it fell and the D string tuning peg was broken at the pegbox. Although I have owned many instruments and know how to treat them, I was surprised that the broken peg wood was so soft. The broken peg was soft wood painted black, but I knew what I was buying for $400. The four replacement pegs arrived the next day after ordering, and they are beautiful. The new peg fit almost exactly, and since I don't have a shaver or reamer, I put some abrasive toothpaste on the peg, and rotated the peg in the pegbox until it fit perfectly. When cutting the peg to the correct length, I had never worked with ebony, and the hardness of the wood was a surprise. Finally, I drilled a 0.051" hole, in the middle of the exposed peg in the pegboard. Finished!

These pegs cut well for me in a peg shaper. They also burnished well after sanding.

Hi quality and REAL Ebony. on the down side they are thicker than regular Tuning Pegs so get ready to widen the peg holes on your cello. Also they are holess so get ready for that too. I'm just glad I do this for a living and have the tools for this kind of job.

These are not plastic, they are ebony. Nor are they solid black - there is some brown in the grain. I think they look good. They're not perfect, one of the pegs has a flat spot where the stock wood appeared to be smaller than needed for the size of the peg, another has a piece missing from the decorative gold circle. They are too thick - you will most likely need to shape these to fit your cello but I don't think that's uncommon.

La empuñadura es ligeramente más pequeña, la pieza viene con pequeños arañazos pero por el costo vale la pena adquirir el producto
