Bought my father-in-law a CB radio for his 2012 JK Wrangler Rubicon for Xmas, and included installing it as a part of his gift from me. Got this power adapter to provide switched 12v power to the CB without having to cut into any wires, something I try to avoid on vehicles this new and also not mine. Included instructions are pretty decent, but instead of having the accessory connection down by the footwell, I made my connection to the CB's wiring, and ziptied the wiring to a bracket or support behind the glovebox.I had contemplated cutting off the screw down wire connector for making my CB connection and using some heatshrink terminals, but opted to just pack some dielectric grease on the end of the connector to protect it a little.I feel it's a little pricey for what it is, but it is at least cheaper than an identical product sold by a Jeep parts catalog that rhymes with muadratec.

This worked on my ignition switched power on my WK2 JC. Appears to also fit the one in the arm rest which is always on, ordering another for that one as well to power my dash cam in parking mode.On the WK2, remove the center gearshift coverplate from the back then the front (4 clips total) the the passenger panel staring from the front and remove. Remove the one bolt if needed for the knee panel to access the back of the 12v socket, push the retention with a trim tool or screwdriver and pop out the OEM. Mine didn't have the same retention, so I taped it to the one on this harness (1st) then plugged in the harnes , my dash came hard wire kit and it works. If you are only doing one, generally conned the "alwasy on" to this location if on a switched circuit.If you tap off a always on, be care of of what you connect (no lights), just very low amp items as the wires are real thin on this harnes, but can work as your relay trigger to a relay or a switched aux fuse box and run the full 25a from the battery under the seat to the relay.

The connectors seem to be made of decent plastic and don’t feel fragile like some aftermarket connectors. Wasn’t a huge fan of the screw terminal connector for where the new auxiliary device attaches, but that’s an easy enough fix.

I was going to use this for the extra plug in the cargo area of a JK but learned that it isn’t powered by default unless you mess with the fuse box which I didn’t want to do. So I ran two wires down the passenger side of jeep to the back of the dash and connected to the cigarette lighter there. It works great and am happy to have power in my cargo area now which was the goal.
