Had issues with the stock pump providing enough fuel. Problem solved and it's sexys

After 2 stock-replacement fuel pumps that failed minutes after starting, I decided the 460 in my 79 F100 deserved a serious hardware upgrade. The Edelbrock pump is noticeably larger than the stock pump, so I pulled the power steering pump bracket and moved it out of the way for easy access. I had already read that the large boss on the top of the edelbrock pump made it hard to get a socket and extension on the bolts (you must use their supplied bolts). So I bought a 1/4" drive 9/16" short socket so I could use the thinner 1/4" extension/ratchet to get a straight shot at tightening things down, and it worked perfectly. The downside is that before you tighten things down, you are going to need some fittings, and they don't align anywhere close to the angles of the factory pump. So I bought AN NPT fittings with flares and AN female flare barbed fittings. This way, I was able to angle them in the direction of the hoses. The final problem was the body of the pump is so large, it was pressing against my radiator hose. Cutting an inch off the radiator side of the hose should allow me to pull it away from the pump. The install went pretty quick and easy after all the prep work, but the pressure was too high. In the first pic, pressure with no regulator was 8.5. A Holley likes between 5 & 7. The second pic shows a PSI of 6. This was achieved by plumbing the lines through an aeromotive 5-12 psi pressure regulator. It's a lot of work to go from factory to custom, but I feel like this beast of a pump will hold up well. Fingers crossed.

The product was very poorly finished. The chrome like finish had wrinkles and just looked cheap. It works fine but it has no place in an expensive street rod. I would expect way better from edelbrock. Very disappointing

I bought this mainly so I could eliminate my fuel pressure regulator that I was using with the stock fuel pump on my 460. Haven't measured the output pressure on this pump, but so far no over pressure problems with my edelbrock 1411 carb.
