Anyone who gave these gaskets a bad review are inexperienced in the automotive industry. The best and most efficient way to seal these intakes are with gaskets to the head faces which the Edelbrock 7220 kit supplies you. The front and back seal to the block should always be rtv silicone black. On the front and back of block all four corners of gaskets meet the block as well. Always put some around coolant ports as well. There is a reason why this kit doesn’t come with front and back gaskets because you end up using silicone anyways. Also some heads have intake faces shortened our intake manifold faces shortened and in result the gap between block and intake is too think to even use front and back gaskets. So rtv is used for those areas instead which is more efficient and effective for sealing anyways.

We needed to remove our performer intake and needed new gaskets. These are perfect. Have used multiple times on our 1965 Ford Ranchero with a 1968 302 V8 motor.
