finally got a chance to try this shovel and provide my feedback. this shovel is very compact and easy to use, and is made of heavy duty metal. it comes in several pieces and requires assembling which is very easy and straight forward. it comes with foal covers on the handle that make it easy to grip and use. I used it for scraping the iced snow in my driveway and it did a really good job. highly recommended.

I've been wanting one of these for a while and was excited to use it right away. But I'm on the fence as to whether this offers a lot of advantage over the straight-edge shovel I was using before. I think it's slightly more advantageous to have a narrower implement that lets you cut in a stronger curve. But then the handle is shorter than my shovel which actually made this less pleasant to use, with less leverage if I did need to cut through denser material. Add to that I now have to store an extra tool. As far as durability and functionality of this particular product, I'm satisfied. I wasn't digging into roots or anything like that anyway - mostly just soft soil. But if you're taller, or if space is at a premium, or if you're just edging straight lines or gentle curves, you might want to look for one with a longer handle or you might not need a specialized tool.

This is a great tool to have at the house. It is nice for keeping a clean edge on our flower beds along the grass. The T handle is very nice to put force down on the shovel.

I do not like giving bad reviews but I don’t have a choice with this one. M I couldn’t believe, just the first step into the kick plate and the entire blade bent. Completely useless. It wasn’t the softest soil i was trying to cut but no reason for it to bend that easily under my 175lbs body weight. Really should be 0 stars based on its usefulness.

I don't want to loosen the soil directly around the edging other wise the weight of the rock makes it want to flip over. This saw tooth edge should work perfectly for cutting through any grass roots, without loosening the soil, for easier installation of the edging.

I'm 6'-4" and found that this tool does the job advertised but is really made for people a little shorter, and I found that my back started bothering me a little after a couple hours of using this tool. We have a double-wide driveway and front sidewalk going up to the front door, as well as the entire stretch of the roadway in front of the house so it took me a couple hours to edge the yard, but when I was done, it was gorgeous. I'd say anyone under 6 foot won't have the same issue as I did with the handle being a little on the shorter side requiring me to bend over more.

This was a bummer. The quality of the material is ok, but the second set of screw holes didn’t line up. I had to use zip ties to secure the handle together. It still works, but it’s not secure. Also, this tool is nice if you have soft soil, I would run into rocks and have to reposition the spade. There are better options out there.
