Easy Installation
This part is easy to install. Tips for replacing your ice maker:
- Turn off power and water: Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the circuit breaker, and turn off the water supply
- Remove the front cover: Use tape to secure the flipper cover on the left wall in front of the ice maker
- Remove other parts: Take off the wire harness cover and the ice maker itself
- Attach the new mounting plate: Attach the mounting plate to the new ice maker assembly
- Plug in and slide: Plug in the wire harness and slide the ice maker assembly onto the mounting rails
- Reassemble: Replace the wire harness cover and reattach the front cover
- Turn power and water back on: Restore water and electricity to the refrigerator

Fits my Kennmore 106.70834102 . The key for determining fit is to find the actual part number of your fridge. In my case it was AP2984633. Once I saw that I thought it was worth a try. Installation was irritating because I removed the old one about 9 years ago. So the nuances of wiring through the freezer plate were completely lost. Not hard to figure out, but required a few times of removing/installing the freezer plate and bottom to get the wiring positioned correctly. The kit itself was fine, and I needed the wiring harness that had a molex end. As you can see, it's making plenty of ice. This is roughly 36 hours worth after I dumped the first 12 hours. It began right away, so be ready. The other issue I had was it was making a sound, which I thought was the arm hitting the side as it completed a cycle. It did this roughly every thirty minutes after installation. I finally figured out the problem... When I removed the ice maker 9years ago, I turned off the water. I realized the sound was the valve opening up. Haha. After turning on the water, it worked great ever since. I hope it has some longevity or I'll eventually have to ding it severly. But for now, it's great.

I bought 2 and after a few months the motor/mechanism quit working. My original ice maker, the part where the ice is made wore out. after buying 2 replacements I decided to put the original (old) motor/mechanism on the part where the ice is made (newer). It's been working for over a year and still making ice. All I can say is that the new replacement ice makers don't last.
