This is such a lovely piece, simple and yet elegant. I chose this slightly more expensive item over the less priced one on a whim and am so glad I did. The assembly was in moments, not even minutes. It is stable in stance and holds the sword without any wobbling.After watching a you tube video on the proper way to display a katana (very easy to find this video) the only concern I had was to display the handle to the left or right.In times of peace to the left, but as we are keeping it by the front door as a possible defense (heaven help us if we actually need a sword for a break in but it is more attractive and much better than a baseball bat behind the door) I chose to display the handle to the right.The gold dragon emblem in the middle only adds to the elegance of this piece.

The sword stand was easy to put together and looks good. One must understand that it is cheap for a reason. It is just pressed wood panels with hole-and-dowl press together construction. It will not survive rough handling or heavy loads. However, left on my wife's piano with a katana and saya it looks pretty good. Just don't expect a this $25.90 stand to look and feel like a $100 stand.

Stand was easy to put together and sturdy. It looks great with my kids karate swords in their game room. Helps the kids to know where they are at all times and there’s no more running around before black belt classes looking for them.
