How in the world does this thing use so little battery? For comparison, I have an Ego leaf blower, hedge trimmer, and weed eater. Out of those tools this pole saw uses the least amount of battery. I went around the entirety of my property trimming branches and even cutting up larger branches that had fallen from storms, and in the end my battery had only gone down one "notch" on the indicator light.Impressive battery aside, this thing is nice. Great feeling quality and ergonomics, and light enough to not get fatigued even after extended use. I live in an area with lots of Oak, and this thing absolutely mucnhes through it despite being such a dense hardwood. Ego continues to impress

You just can't go wrong with this one. It is perfect. I mean I wish it was taller, but it got the job done, and is a great addition to my ego tools.

The EgoPower Pole saw makes trimming branches much safer and easier. Battery power is plenty good enough for me, I've got more than 30 large trees on a half acre. This helps me trim and maintain them with out needing to get up on a ladder and risk hauling a regular saw up while balancing on it.Faster, easier and safer for most cuts. I've also got the Ego Power 16 inch regular saw, leaf blower and the snow blower. The batteries are all interchangeable and will be picking up the mower in the future. It's very convenient and cost efficient to be able to swap batteries between devices. I don't need the snow blower when mowing, so I can pack it away and use those same batteries on the mower, or swap them to the leaf blower or saw.Highly recommend the Ego Power devices.

I decided to go with this brand for my first ever pole saw as I already have their chainsaw which I bought from HD last year. That said, I already have the battery and also some extra lubricating oil.Not hard to assemble. I kind of just figured out how to install the chain and adjust the tension. The front-assist handle felt wobbly though. I also don't particularly like the plastic chain sprocket cover. It did the job and now my roof is safe from being damaged by my acorn tree. My acorn tree is almost 20 yrs old and has gotten really tall and obstructive and needed some serious pruning.I just wish that the blade was 12 inches instead of 10. The extra two inches I think would have solved my issue. At times the branches that I was cutting ended up dangling because it's not quite reaching the full diameter of the branch because of the weird angle that some branches grow into. It doesn't help that the body of the oil tank kind of gets in the way of the angle I'm cutting from.Anyhow, this is my second tool from the brand and so far so good. It's been a good investment from my financial standpoint considering how much I'd have to pay to hire someone to do the job. $200 vs $750 - now that's some pretty good savings.

Best way to trim trees and including chopping some as thick as side of the blade, make sure you keep your chain tight and lubed and you are good to go, I trust EGO 100% and changing all my old tool one by one

Worked super well for the Texas storm clean up. Just happened to order it the week before for fine tuning never even thinking of what we’re facing now. I’m really pleased with how much was accomplished and ease of use. Couldn’t be better for what it is. The batteries being interchangeable is the best! Thanks EGO!

Before I bought this, i did a search to see what the maximum cutting height was. It was stated to be 13 feet and one could extend it to 17 feet using an optional extension shaft. This is deceptive. I was expecting some way to extend the shaft. There is none.Well when I assembled it, the entire unit, from the end of the chain to the end of the battery is 86 inches. Just a tad over 7 feet. Now I am not 6 feet tall. My arms are two feet long and they attach to my shoulders 56 inches off the ground. So that makes my reach with this saw 86+56 = 142 inches - just under 12 feet. Holding the saw at a 45 degree angle yields 24 inches * .707 = 17 inches , bringing the total up to 159 inches. Now subtract half of the 10 inch bar length since you want to cut with the middle of the bar yields 154 inches or 12.83 inches.Okay, you can call that 13 feet. Attribute this one to those clever folks in marketing. What they fail to realize or appreciate is the disappointment in their customer's eyes when they find out they got something other than what they expected. That said, I will go out and buy the extension.I love EGO product in general. This will be my 4th product as I move away from products with gas engines

The chain derails repatedly every twenty seconds to two minutes. I followed the directions including tensioning the chain. In a few hours of working with this tool, I spent 30 minutes actually cutting, and several hours re-mounting the chain. The ergonomics of re-mounting the chain are poor, to tighten the chain you need to turn a screw but the screw is right adjacent to the bar/chain so you have no room to fit a screwdriver or the included adjustment tool unless you hold the screwdrive at an angle and then it will cam out of the screw head. All of the other Ego tools I own are exccellent. This pole saw is a piece of garbage. The worst tool I have ever bought
