Anyone who has worked with metal will tell you that no matter how much you protect your hands with gloves etc... that stuff is sharp and will cut you any chance it will get. This tool is excellent and extremely useful for many reasons. 1. You can actually keep your hands physically away from the metal, you can clamp in the metal, then run this tool down the edge. 2. it's quality material and the metal will last a while. All you need is a decent drill you can hook it up to, and you can protect your fingers from those sharp edges. Just keep in mind, this is a cutting tool, it is not a bending or folding tool. You will still need a separate tool for that or risk your fingers in that endeavor.

I bought this tool to cut steel roof panels and the occasional piece of brass sheet. The cutter functions, though it requires a lot of babying not to wander when first starting off. Not sure if this is an issue with any rotary cutter, or if it's this particular design. There's side to side play in the head even with the stabilizer tightened and attached to the drill handle. This makes it veer to one side when you initially apply power. With enough practice, I think you could work around this issue, but I'm not sure it'd be worth ruining a bunch of sheets to get it figured out.The instructions are quite bad. They look decent at first glance, but they are missing essential details. For example, they identify the blade adjustment screw but provide zero explanation on how to figure out if the blade needs to be adjusted. The instructions also have no real detail on how to hold the tool to get a straight, clean cut. I guess they just assume you have a bunch of scrap metal lying around to mess with until you figure it out by trial and error.Build quality is typical Amazon/Chinese. The tool head is cast from some sort of lightweight metal - probably aluminum, and most of the working parts are held together with low grade screws. The stabilizer is just a piece of cheap rod stock bent into shape. I would not expect this cutter to last very long if it was being used on a daily basis. It was worth the risk for the price, but there are better options out there.
