But when you use lag bolts of any significance to keep the strut safely secured to the ceiling joists, the rollers cannot pass the head of the bolts. So I had to removed one bolt from the ceiling, slide the hoist through the strut, then screw in the lag bolt once again. Makes no sense.

Perfectly happy with these and I don't really care what they look like but it shows a bit of lack of care when there are big grinder marks across the product you just got. Besides that though they work great. I've been lifting a tractor auger without issue. The metal is plenty thick and the bearings run smooth. they're sized right for the channel with only a little room side to side for deflection and a bit up and down. Pay no attention to my strut mounting setup; strong enough for what it's for.

These seem well made but are a little rough around the edges - there are burrs and sharp spots on some areas and the bearings are essentially riveted into the trolly - so they can't be changed out or serviced but should work a long time anyway. The cross bars are wide enough to span the width of some of the smaller cable hoists that are readily available - making for a relatively simple to assemble trolly solution for light duty hoisting.Able to just be slipped into a standard strut channel, its a simple solution but you do need stops to prevent it rolling out of the end of the channel.Nice, inexpensive solution.
