I love my brown rice with many dishes, and this little dynamo makes a perfect batch every time. It's a little smaller than some rice cookers, but it makes enough rice for several make-ahead meals. I use it every week now.

It does what it's supposed to do. Fast, effective and convenient. No mess when it steams. Good amount for 1 or 2 people use. The only thing I don't like is how my rice sticks on the bottom. I waste a lot of rice that way, despite using nonstick cooking spray. But I digress.

It cooks rice well, but the cooking pot insert doesn't have a non-stick surface, so when the heating element heats the bottom, you get burnt rice stuck on the bottom. It's harder to clean than it was with my last rice cooker, which did have that feature. It only cooks a small amount of rice but that's just fine for rice for 1-2 people. The best point for me was the price at the time I bought it.

It’s not just for rice. It’s used every day in our house making oatmeal. It even softens the roasted cashews we love it. I find that if using with rice it calls for a bit more water so the rice doesn’t stick to the bottom. This is the third one we’ve had and it’s great. With cashews is smells delicious and the size is good enough for one person for sure two if you don’t eat an entire bowl of rice.

Got this rice cooker a little over a month. We cook rice every other day. One day, I started cooking the rice and it just stopped working. The cooking light turned off and the entire unit stopped cooking. I sent Elite Gourmet service an email asking what can be done to get this resolved, since it broke in just over a month. Other than a general customer service auto reply email, they have not reached back to me. I know this rice cooker is cheap China junk, but the company is not any good as well.

I didn't get this for rice; rather, I got it to melt beeswax, so I got the cheapest one I could find. I didn't have the time to melt the beeswax so I actually tried it for cooking rice and was I pleasantly surprised. It's not fancy but it does the job. It has done so well that I have kept using it as a rice cooker. It definitely as some quirks, but overall it works well.As with any of these rice cookers they have their own measuring device. So, you can't just put in 1/2 cup of rice and cups of water. You have to use their "international rice measuring tool". It tells you this up front, but the goofiness of it didn't strike me until I got it and then forgot where I put the little measuring cup. This is not just a drawback of this cooker, it's the same with all of them. Evidently there is some fancy international standard for how to cook rice. So,here's a trick. Just put in a cup of rice and then put water in until it is over the rice by one finger tip. Just stick your finger in and if it comes up to the first joint you are good to go. It has some different criteria for brown rice, but I just ignore that and go with the finger method. The other annoying thing is that there is no automatic shut off or alarm when the rice is cooked. It just has an On switch and it's either cooking or "keep warm". If you don't turn it off the rice will be a bit burnt down at the bottom. This is a minor annoyance and I just set a timer for 15 minutes so it's definitely not a deal breaker. So,if you want a great value on a rice cooker give this one a dance. It does a great job and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It's definitely something I would buy again and hopefully it will work well onthe bees wax too, but when I use it for bees wax it's no longer going to be useful for rice so I'll just buy another one.

Me gustó que aunque de tamaño es pequeña cumple muy bien su función de cocinar el arroz , solo que si se pegó un poco en el fondo, la proxima vez usaré unas gotas de aceite para evitarlo ya que en las instrucciones no dice.

Although this rice cooker like the first generation cooker, but am sure it will last for a long time instead of the non-stick inner pot that the coating start to peel off after used for a while. Well worth the money.
