This carafe was carefully packaged in a styrofoam form-fitting container, and that was inside the box which was securely taped up. It is a *serious* carafe--it is a bit heavier than most that you may see advertised, but it's the kind of sturdiness that can mean years of use. The glass is about 3/8 inch or 6mm thick, not 2mm like some other carafes. The cup has ridges on it, which give you a good grip, even with wet hands. It holds a lot of water, which means that in many cases, you won't have to refill it multiple times. Looks like it will be easy to clean also, because the mouth of the carafe is wide enough to insert a scrubber of some type. Check out the measurements listed -- it is generously sized.This would also be a great addition to a guest room, dining table or home office. Gives a much more aesthetic vibe sitting on my desk than one of those popular huge sipping tumblers. Highly recommend if you're looking for a carafe that won't break the first time you set it down a little too hard; the designs on it are attractive, and worth the price. Very satisfied with my purchase.

The decanter itself is beautiful, heavy, and thick! I needed it for mouthwash, which I highly recommend against because it holds a ridiculous amount of liquid and looks way too large on my vanity (hand soap container for size - banana not available). But that’s my fault because I underestimated how much it would hold! It’s a great value and I hope you are able to find something that makes more sense than mouthwash to fill it. Haha.

High quality. Thick glass. Packaged well in styrofoam. The cup fits perfectly on top. It’s beautiful! I’m able to pour about 7 of the cups, so holds a decent amount of water!

The cats don’t knock it over, but there is no way my mother is picking this up in the middle of the night for a drink of water. Very heavy. Sometimes I just go thirsty.

I love having this on my bedside table. It is beautiful and not an eyesore like a cup or mug and it prevents dust getting in your water.
