Fortunately I haven’t had to use them yet but they are a perfect size for stove tops and gas grills. Well priced.

I've seen a kitchen fire and it wasn't pretty. It was a number of minutes before the fire department got there and this fire blanket could have prevented a lot of damage.I really like the hanger hole, which includes a grommet and reinforcing for extra strength. This could matter when you grab the pull tabs to yank the blanket free. You want to make sure the holder doesn't come off the wall or door with the blanket, costing you valuable seconds to get the blanket free. My suggestion would be to not just hang it on a nail with a small head. It could fly off when you are trying to yank the blanket out in an emergency. Better to use a hook or screw that has a head bigger than the hanging hole, to make sure the holder stays put in an emergency need.I also like that the hang bag (which holds the blanket) is red, to remind you it's emergency gear, and includes easy directions with both pictures and words. Included in those directions is that the blanket is single use and should be disposed of after use (so I can't test it without ruining it for future use).Possibly confusing is the direction to force the victim to the ground and wrap the blanket around them to extinguish the flames. However, above the direction boxes is wording that the blanket I ordered (1.2 x 1.2 meters -- just under 4 x 4 feet), there is a warning that the included blanket is "not adequate size for adult clothing fires." The blanket is certainly better than nothing, but in a panic situation like a family member with clothes on fire, it would be easy to overlook that this blanket might not work. This company does make two larger sizes, so perhaps those two sizes are considered large enough.Overall, the quality of the blanket and holder looks good and the price, at under $14 , seems like a great deal. So, good design, good fire suppression strategy, and good value -- four stars.

I want to preface this review by thanking the Amazon Vine program for offering me this Emergency Fire Blanket for free in exchange for my honest review of it. Honestly, this is not an item I would have thought about even having in my home before Amazon offered it through the Vine program, as I have the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and a fire extinguisher, but now that I have one, I realize a fire blanket is something every home should probably not be without, because not only should it be easy to use if it ever had to be (which I hope it never has to be), but it will work on all types of fires. This emergency fire blanket comes in several sizes. It is folded up inside another bag which was designed to be hung on a wall or inside a cabinet. The blanket itself has two hang tags attached to it in order to pull it out of its hanging bag if it needs to be used in a fire. Once pulled out of the hanging bag, the tags can be used to place the blanket over a fire to smother it out. A larger fire blanket than the one I have could also be used to wrap an adult person within it if their clothes were to catch on fire. I received a 39 inch square sized fire blanket, which is too small to wrap an adult within it for that purpose. The blanket itself is heavy in weight as it is made of a glass material. While there are several places In my home I could see storing this fire blanket, I have decided to keep it in my kitchen, as I have a gas stove that gets used at least two times a day, and a wood burning fireplace in the room off the kitchen that gets used occasionally, so it seems like a central place to have it handy if it is ever needed.

These are great to have around. They don't take up any space, you can just throw them in the kitchen drawer and they're there in an emergency!

I haven't used this product yet, and hopefully I won't have to... It's a good idea to keep one around the house, especially near the kitchen, however. The idea is to throw this inflammable heavy blanket (made from a kind of fiberglass material) over a grease fire, which should put it out by cutting out the oxygen. If you try to use water to put out a grease fire, there's a greater chance of getting hurt very seriously since it will "erupt" ferociously. Instead, try to cover it with a metal pot lid, or if you have this blanket at hand, use it.A minor complaint I have with this item is that, on the listing page you see two blankets shown. However, if you read the listing carefully, the price is for one, and you'll only receive one. I think this is slightly misleading, and I hope the sellers will update their pictures (or make it more clear that you're getting a single blanker). Otherwise, it's highly recommended...

I haven't had to use them, I hope these work and I hope that I never have to use them but they are great peace of mind to have in case of emergency. I keep one in each car because you never know.

This is one of those home safety items you never think of but every home should have several. We have them in the bedroom, kitchen, and laundry room leading to the garage. These are perfect for stop, drop and roll, putting out a grease fire, or escaping the house during a fire. These are only a fraction of their uses, I'm sure you can think of more. Buy them, make sure everyone knows where they are, and hope you never have to use them.

Two fire blankets made to snuff out a fire before it becomes a problem. These are useful along with other extinguishing tools.Reusability is not the norm for fire safety it and these are no different. The best thing is that they fold compactly and store easily. The packaging has inked instructions on one side and the same thing affixed to the other side on a printed label.Even with no instructions, the packaging design is pretty straightforward with a Velcro closure and pull tabs for quick release. It’s hard to put a price tag on safety but, at $40 MSRP it is a bit on the high end. You may find the pack of two on sale that could make the cost more reasonable.
