These 13qt little coolers are pretty awesome. I’ve been through a few little playmates and small igloos over the years. I’ve always hesitated to spend the money required to get a decent lunchbox. Had I realized how sturdy and well made these were. I would have had no hesitation. That said, I only pulled the trigger on it because the color I got. Had a $20 less price tag for whatever reason. I wasn’t sure I would like the color. I get a lot of favorable feedback on the color. Everyone always says “you won’t lose thatâ€.Storage capacity is perfect for my needs. I take the large Yeti cup for coffee everyday. It totally fits with lots of extra space at the end of the day. The provided shoulder strap is great. I use that most every time so I can carry other stuff in my hands. I thought it would be heavier, not at all cumbersome. I throw one of those reusable ice blocks in and it keeps everything cold for the day. Hell, I know it would hold at least a 12 pack of beer with plenty of ice if needed. Seems to seal well. Fits in my locker at work. It really doesn’t seem to take up much room in the front seat of my truck. Came with several Engel decals and all. I happened to know a fellow with that last name and gave them to him.There are a lot of folks at work have the 13 qt or even have the 19 qt. They have had them for years. I hope this little guy gets me to retirement. Less than 10 years, for the price it should. If y’all decide to get one. I think you will be able to buy with confidence. I have had no dealings with their customer service or anything. Can’t comment on any of that. Enjoy and thank y’all for reading this.

This cooler has been used as my lunch box for the last few months. Keeps two freezer packs frozen all day in the FL heat. Holds all my food and snacks and multiple drinks. The latches are holding up great, so far no complaints with this purchase. Would buy again

Best lunch box Ive seen on the job site. After seeing a few fellas with them I had to pick one up myself. Had it in action for a few months now and I can say its well made. Opens smooth and the metal buckles closes tight. Takes a construction workers hard use like a International Blvd hooker on payday. Strong enough to support my burly 275 as a seat while Im on break. I find the top tray is useful for your keys, wallet, headphones, drugs or whatever stuff you dont want to loose while on the job. Good size fits all my various togo containers and snacks and room for a tall can. Strap is convenient when Im usually carrying tools also.

I had never heard of Engle before buying this lunchbox, and I can't fathom why? It's fantastic! I'd have to agree that this is the most versatile and perfectly conceived lunch box ever.I work construction and I appreciate how it's built like a toolbox, yet watertight and insulated. I replaced my VERY old Igloo 6-pack cooler. Although the igloo did last a long time, it was never good at keeping food and drink cold. Also, it did not clean well and looked pretty nasty.I like the larger size of this Engle, because I no longer have to play Tetris trying to get my lunch packed in the morning. On hot summer days where I may want an extra drink or two, I can now easily accommodate them. It's professional looking and I've had several clients comment on how they liked it.I also kayak and intend on taking this cooler since it is also a drybox and water tight.The price point of this lunchbox is extremely reasonable when you compare it to some of the other coolers nowadays. A Yeti this size would probably be $200 and no better aesthetically or functionally.

After reading a lot of the reviews on this cooler I thought I would chime in. The cooler so far after 4 days of use seems pretty good. I felt like it could be more robust from an appearance, only time will tell. Two days of trying frozen gel packs that don’t freeze all the way wasn’t very useful using this cooler. I had this in a semi with no a/c for a day and the outside temp was 92 and it did okay. That day and from now on I use a Nordic ice pack, which is a frozen block and a freezer gel pack I get from Schwann’s/Melo. It kept things cold. That’s the best method for this box otherwise you will have barely cool items. I’ve seen some comments on the strap. It’s pretty sturdy although the buckle doesn’t have teeth for the strap to bind, it will slip right apart. Workaround is bring the tail end back over the top and loop it back. I took a pic of mine and it holds like no other. Two months of harvest among us and I will update after it gets abused.

Ordered the 13qt to replace a soft cooler I used as a lunch box. This thing is awesome! Super light, smooth surface that’s easy to clean. Can hold a days lunch/snacks/beverages with ease. The carry handle built in to the lid is a bonus. If there is any complaint, the strap is a bit minimal. No padding or anything to make shoulder carrying easier. It’s honestly not bad but I wish they maybe sold a fancier strap maybe as a separate item. Not enough to subtract a star in my opinion. Super durable, heavy duty latches are killer, bonus dry container to elevate and keep items dry is also a plus. This cooler is well made, I use a lunch box everyday and this thing is worth the money.

I’ve had a few lunch boxes including the retro Stanley box which was way too small for someone working in the construction trade every day and those cheap amazon Chinese made cool bags which just flop and crease within 3 months. This is the best lunch box I have had so far, solidly built and big enough to keep a good supply of food and drink in to last a full day. You get what you pay for and I have a feeling this will last a while over the others. Looks cool too.

It fits quite a bit, not as much as the large under armour - but with the ua, it got bulky and I couldn’t stand the floppy lid, and the crappy zippers. I wanted a cooler that sits upright nicely, that I could “pop†open easily while driving, without having to try to unzip it. This cooler is the right size, good latches and handle, and the strap is great. I stuck a bunch of stickers on it to personalize it more. Sorry, I’m not using it to keep food cold or use ice, because I have a fridge at work, I just use this as a lunch box. But ENGEL is Australian and has been around a long time, and makes very good products so I’m sure it works very well at keeping items cold. It also comes with a plastic insert to keep sandwiches off your ice.

Really pleased with our Engel cooler. I needed a cooler that would hold its temperature for 24/36 hours. The cooler performs really well if you pre cool it first.Cooling the box over night with ice before adding the bits you want to transport and either ice or gel ice packs does keep everything lovely and cold for up to 36 hours which is what we wanted.We also love the look of the cooler which is finished in Grassland. It’s slightly vintage looking and works well in the environments we have used it in.I think the test of most items is the comments you get from others and the Engel cooler has definitely has some positive responses from friends.In short, it’s a great cooler on many levels and we highly recommend you consider one.Or if you prefer, you could buy a massively over priced Yeti cooler which won’t do anything this cooler already does.The choice is yours!
