Really like the five holes at the end of the dipstick, and if the holes have oil in them or lack of oil in them, you know whether to add some oil or not much easier than the original standard that came with the mini

Item very close to right length. Total length tip to top of handle is 21.75". Tip to base of handle is 19.5"Recommend dabbing oil on o-rings each time check oil.

Dipstick is quality! Doesn’t resolve the issue @ hand, but that is not the dipstick’s fault. The problem is the mini dipstick & tube design is, by far, the worst I’ve ever seen! The only way to remedy the situation would require a completely new procedure & design for the engine’s tube & dipstick (which will probably never happen). This is easier to read then the original. The slinky like design takes a little getting used to. Don’t buy it hoping, or expecting it to resolve the poor design of the factory stick.

The tip of the dipstick got lodged/hung up inside motor and came off. It dropped down inside engine and I had to pull the oil pan and retrieve it so as not to cause damage. Def not worth it and could have caused catastrophic engine failure.

I purchased this as my eyes are not as good as before and this makes it really easy to tell your oil level because of the design. It looks short and feels wiggly but it actually fits. However, once plugged it's a pain to pull out as it seems some sort of suction builds at the handle area.

Finally, a replacement dipstick for my mini that can be read. The original design from bmw was impossible to read. I overfilled twice costing me 2 new serpentine belts. This dipstick is clear and easy to read. If I had found this a year ago it would have saved me, literally,$268.98 in repair bills. Buy one!!

Fits much better than the OEM dipstick. The reading of oil is greatly improved because this one would retain oil inside the hole instead of let the oil stick on the wall of the dipstick tube. Definitely recommend to for those who love and want to keep their Mini for long. This product provides you accurate reading of oil level and ease of insertion.

Ya I always had trouble reading the stock dipstick for my base model cooper but this things reads easy fits great. It’s the exact same length as the stock dipstick so no worries there and has way better indication. Even comes with simple instructions on the package bottom hole you need a quart and if it’s in the middle you need a half quart but I think there’s enough holes for you to read it in quarters. Great product.

Description says it will work in a mini cooper R56 2009 and a Mini Countryman 2011 and its quite a lot shorter. Have to return it .
