When I got this lifting plate, it was $10, and for the quality it was a steal. It is still one of the least-expensive plates out there so if you're in the market, don't overlook this one.

It's a nicely made piece, even if the description is a little wonky (In one spot is says "compatible with universal" and another says "SBC BBC Chevy & Ford). I doubt it's really universal, but I'm sure it fits more than Small Block & Big Block Chevys & Fords. The main holes in the far corners align with a Holley 4150 or Carter AFB/Edelbrock carburator flange bolt pattern, so I would think that 99% of engines with a 4-barrel carb will work with this.There are other sets of holes and no indication as to what they are for. On one side there are 2 extra holes slightly inboard of the Holley 4150 pattern, but I don't know what would happen if you tried to use them as the center of gravity would be to one side. If anyone has used this optional hole patterm, I'd like to know how well it worked. Hopefully it works better than the guy in the picture that screwed it to the top of his battery (Note: If you need a cherry picker to pull out your battery, you might need to spend more time at the gym)But for most applications, because the 4150 pattern is so ubiquitous, I think it will work fine. And I'm sure if you're pulling your own engine out, odds are you know what carburator you have

This is a nice, low-cost lifting plate. It fits the flange on my 1990 TBI perfectly. The welds look good, and the overall fabrication is clean and professional. This is an excellent alternative to the more expensive options available. I definitely would recommend it!

You just attach this bracket to the carburetor then hoist the motor out of the vehicle. This is a great addition to your shop or garage. I would recommend this to anyone.
