Love this little composter bucket. It never stinks, it is easy to clean and I use compostable plastic bags to line it. Looks great on the counter. It is sturdy and light.

The container, lid, and handle are all solid metal, so I don’t expect any breakage for the foreseeable future.It is super easy to rinse out after taking out the compost. I don’t use any bags, and I’ve just had to quickly rinse this before using it again. There are no crevices or areas that would be hard to clean if something got crusted on.So far, it has contained the smell of the scraps just fine - though we empty it into the backyard at least once a week. As an added bonus, it looks sleek and doesn’t have the word “compost” on it like so many other products out there. If you are going to order this thing and then find yourself shocked when you receive what is basically just a pot with a lid on it in the mail (despite the numerous images on this page that clearly show what is basically a pot with a lid on it), then please just go buy a pot and save yourself the trouble of posting a really stupid review on Amazon that blames the product for the fact that you didn't realize what a compost bin was.2. Composting involves taking your food scraps that would *otherwise be trash* and keeping them in a bucket (or a pot with a lid on it) in your kitchen. For this reason, it will *get dirty*, just like the rest of the items in your kitchen that come in contact with food. You will often have to *wipe it down* to remove the residue of whatever you put in it, *just like everything else in your kitchen*. Don't let the term "compost bin" fool you into thinking that this product has the magical ability to self-clean. Remember that this is basically just a pot with a lid on it.3. This was a nice upgrade for my old plastic compost holder which generally left the kitchen smelling a little funky. This one is sleek and attractive and does not allow the compost smells out into the room. The the filters that fit in it are a bit awkward to get into place; however, they are washable and they do work.

I like this compost pail. It's sturdy, easy to clean, and the lid fits well and has two filters. I use compostable bags with it to keep it cleaner than just putting the scraps directly in it. I have not noticed any smells at all. I'm happy with this purchase, it replaced an old plastic compost container I had that was well past it's useful life. I would recommend this, it's good!

Shame I had to buy this from the US but it was well worth the wait - composting in the kitchen can be horrible with the wrong bin - they stink the place out and fill your kitchen with fruit flies.
