It is nice and sturdy. Not thin metal. The magnetic strip is a plus for things that won’t hang well.

I recently purchased a full set of griddle tools for my griddle and needed a caddy for them. Fortunately, this one came available on Vine, so I ordered it to try it out. This is a Vine review, which means I was received the caddy for free in exchange for my unbiased review.First off, the caddy is well made. The tray material is sturdy enough to stand up to a heavy load. The screw brackets that attach it to your table or cart work well to secure the caddy. My table has a small lip on the underside of the table; the bracket clamp slipped right around that lip to mount securely. The basket fits into tabs on the two brackets, and the magnetic bar screws to the basket. Here's where I ran into a problem. The bolt provided are just barely long enough to engage with the nuts holding them in place. In fact, on one side, a slight bend in the mounting tab made it nearly impossible to get the bolt to engage with the threads on the nut. I grabbed a set of vice grips to clamp the bar to the tab, giving me just enough room to thread the nut onto the bolt. If the bolts were an extra quarter of an inch, this wouldn't be a problem.Once installed, the caddie has plenty of storage for my tools, including a spot to hang the 12" dome. I use a hook to hang the dome on the backside of the caddy, behind the rest of the tools. It's out of the ay, but accessible when I need it.The knife rack and the paper towel holder just slip over the top rail of the caddy, and that can be an issue. If a knife snags while you're pulling it out, you could pull the whole knife rack up, spilling the knives out. Same with the paper towel holder, but paper towels hitting the ground or your feet isn't a big deal. Knives, on the other hand...I'd like to see some kind of retention added to the knife rack. For me, I just used a couple of zip ties to lock it down.Despite these small issues, I'm very pleased with the caddy. I use my griddle 3-4 times per week, so my griddle tools stay in the caddy almost full time. I'm looking forward to seeing how well the caddy handles the weather; it feels pretty hefty and sturdy; I expecet it will do well.

The paper towel holder (which was the main reason I bought this) is a joke. It's short, and ungainly, and hangs loosely. I ended up drilling a hole through it, and the frame to bolt it in place. The knife holder also hangs loosely, allows the knives to hang loosely, and makes for metal on metal contact with the blades, which I'm not overly happy about. It works, but I zip tied it to the frame, and attached magnetic tape to it to hold the knives better. I wish the magnetic block was a solid plastic base, as it will surely crack with time. The entire thing works, but it's not a high quality item, by far, and had to be modified to be worth using.

I don’t usually write reviews, but when I do, it’s a real piece of junk. Upon receiving this storage caddy, I began to assemble. The first issue were the two screws being to short. After dropping them several times, I finally gave up. So here I am in my garage at 9:00 pm looking for longer screws. I made it work. I then attached the paper towel holder. Nope, it doesn’t secure firmly and loosely holds a roll of paper towels. The other attachments are just as bad. Now it’s 10:00 pm and I’m having to repackage all the pieces back in the box. Inferior product. Don’t waste your time.

First off, a confession: I missed some of the fine print and didn’t realize that this was designed for a Blackstone griddle, with the requisite 2” shelf for the clamps to work on. That is totally my fault. The good news is that the clamps have enough flexibility to accommodate a variety of designs and I could fix this to my BBQ. The flip side to this is that the caddy will likely not fit under an OEM griddle cover, since the added space is far greater than most covers will allow. The 2nd issue is that this flexibility also creates the most problems. The clamps and the caddy are separate pieces, so you can leave the clamps permanently in place and simply lift and remove the caddy with all accessories. That’s a good feature. However, this benefit means it is really easy to knock the caddy off of its shallow hooks while working the grill. Similarly, the accessory hooks are easy to attach and reconfigure to meet your needs. “But” that ease also means they are not fixed or clamped in place and get easily moved. An example would include the paper towel holder: it is nice that it can be adjusted from front to back to accept different thicknesses of rolls. But the holder is simply a stamped piece of metal, with no clamp or locking mechanism, so nothing is holding it in place. If you pull too fast the roll goes flying into the grass, or worse, your food. I will try to clamp it down or perhaps glue it, but that means no adjustability in the future. The caddy clamps on to a variety of surfaces so you can use it for many types of BBQs but it is best used on a flat table edge. It is very fast and easy to assemble but you might want to wait until the main caddy is fixed because the accessory pieces do not lock and fall off easily. You can adjust or remove pieces as needed for any occasion, and my entire unit stores easily underneath my BBQ.Be careful when attaching the magnetic bar to the main basket, as the screw posts are barely the right length to make it to the other side, let alone get into the included screws. At first I though I got the wrong parts, but the post are deliberately short so they don’t protrude and cut into anything stored in the basket. It is a poor design but makes for easy packing and shipping. Unfortunately you may need three hands to get the posts screwed in, or a lot of patients and a lot of pressure.Despite the assembly challenges, I like that this is easy to detach and easy to clean. A bit of tape should add the needed friction to hold the accessory items in place, even though it may detract from the appearance. I can't use the BBQ cover with this attached but that is specific to my setup.

I picked this up to keep BBQ sauces and condiments close to the BBQ. I was able to fit bottles of BBQ sauce, Ketchup, Mustard, and a jar of Sauerkraut into the basket. I have long metal utensils, and the magnets hold them tight. I found no problems with the welds, no sharp edges, looks like a good powder coat paint. Before picking up this caddy, I noted some concerns other reviewers had raised, which caused me to hesitate at first.(1) Someone noted that the bolts are too short for magnetic strips. I found that the bolt is just long enough to get a start into the nut at both ends, so have the Allen key in the bolt when you insert it into the hole. I also made the mistake of starting to overtighten the bolt and noticed that the countersunk head was starting to go below the surface. The bolt is tight enough when the head is flush to the surface. The bolt is not so long that it sticks out beyond the end of the nut.(2) My BBQ side table has a bit of a lip underneath (3rd picture from the left), and I saw someone suggesting a smaller top to the clamp for this type of top. I found that if the clamp was about half tightened, you could install the clamp on an angle so the top of the clamp moves above the bottom lip as the clamp is straightened out. The clamp can then be fully tightened to the top surface of the table.(3) They need to rethink the towel holder, but it is not worth a full star deduction. To tighten it up on the caddy, I wound electrical tape around the holder and that tightened up the holder enough that it does not move to the left or right. But as you can see to the second picture on the left, the paper towels (shop towels) flop around quite a bit. A plastic cylinder that could be placed over top the formed metal would be an improvement. What I like about the caddy is that it is detachable. I can bring it inside to load up the condiments. While my BBQ cover is several inches longer than my BBQ, I can leave the tray on during the summer. However, because of snow and ice during the winter, it easily detaches to go inside the BBQ cabinet, and there is no reason to remove the clamps.

The ESOW brand griddle caddy for Blackstone griddles offers a plethora of storage options for everything needed to assure an effective and enjoyable outdoor grilling experience. This valuable accessory adds a touch of thoughtful design and product execution that will likely induce feelings of “how did I live without this”?This caddy will deliver immediate benefits by adding capabilities for paper towel dispensing, 6 hooks for hanging cooking tools, and a magnetic tool holder especially made for wider tools such as spatulas. One end of the rack is equipped with a dedicated knife holder. The main storage shelf is perfect for upright secure storage of bottles of sauces, seasonings and such.Adding this accessory will immediately free up valuable flattop grillside tables and tablets for their intended purpose of hosting food product trays and related. This should also produce a reduction in unintended and unwanted items dropped on the ground due to insufficient or improper storage options. The caddy is properly constructed of metal wire made of high grade corrosion resistant 304 stainless steel finished in a matte black. Although custom designed to fit the Blackstone 28-36 inch sized grills, this caddy can be attached to any overhanging shelf up to 3 ½ inches thick using the 2 screw clamps provided. This reviewer planned to install the caddy as a replacement for an existing simple 6 hook grill accessory holder currently installed on the side of a homemade live edge wooden shelving unit located in the fully enclosed outdoor kitchen (picture attached). We are currently working on a suitable way to fasten this caddy to the vertical face of the shelving exterior end wall, as the existing clamp feature will not presently work at this location.Update: June 20, 2024. The original location did not work out and the caddy was instead installed on a home grown and homemade cedar shelving unit custom made for an egg shell barbecue and adjoining smoker. Pictures are attached. The caddy will obviously add significant storage capabilities compared to the existing set up and we greatly look forward to concluding this project adaption in the near future. Conclusion: The ESOW brand griddle caddy for Blackstone griddles offers a plethora of storage options for everything needed to assure an effective and enjoyable outdoor grilling experience. An overall product score of 5/5 is assigned accordingly.
