This frog rain gauge is so sweet!!! Purchased for my husband as a Christmas gift 3 months ago and the glass broke this week. :( So disappointed and we cant figure out how that happened. (not ice related, but we do have a lot of naughty/nosey squirrels). We've ordered additional glass measuring tubes and hope they last longer. But to be honest we'd buy this again, they do sell a plastic replacement part, but I'm afraid the plastic would turn cloudy after a few months in the Virginia sun.

I had to return the first one I ordered as a piece of the metal was flaking off and would have easily come off. The replacement was sent quickly and it had a bit of a problem with the umbrella connecting properly. I had scrap a little off and then it fit fine. He's super cute. No rain yet! I hope he holds up to the weather.

This little guy is adorable sitting among my flowers. I like him so well, I would buy him as a gift for family or friend. My advice is that the size measurement is from the tip of the stake to the top of the umbrella. So, he is smaller than I expected, but too adorable to pass up. I would take away 1/2 star if possible because the cup that holds the glass gauge, turns the glass orange.

I purchased this for my son while he was doing virtual learning. He needed a rain gauge for charting precipitation while learning about weather. It is a cute rain gauge and my children love checking to amount of rain that is collected. It is sturdy and a fun addition to our yard. I’m sure this would be a great gift too. As a side note, accidents do happen and replacement glass tubes can be purchased on Amazon. My husband broke the original glass tube while cutting the grass and I purchased a replacement that came as a two pack and they fit perfectly. The replacement tube is actually the one in my picture being used and seems almost identical.

The distressed brass look is very nice. This was a gift and my friend loved it and the planter I put it in.Wish there was a stand-up version too so it could be mounted on the patio floor.
