I've had the opportunity to try on of these head units out before buying. Shutting off the water is easy, and convenient, right at this filter mount. It came with 2 #10 screws, and were zinc coated. I used Stainless steel for mine, why would you want to chance rusting? Anyhow it took about 5 mins to install it to the cabinet. My recommendation is using brass fitting, with a good pipe dope as sealant. Install the elbows before installing this head unit. I went overboard on my water lines, and used a 3/8" dishwasher 6' line, and a 28" 3/8" faucet line. These are compression nut fittings, that's where the brass works best. The parts for the setup cost me 55.00, not including the filter. I build for longevity, not on the cheap. I hope this helps you out.

The old heads also always leak eventually. Mine was over 10 years old and I suspected it was mineral deposits. I even tried a little vinegar.Once it was removed, the mineral deposits were very obvious. The new one is easy to install and works great without any leaks. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it.

We had the purifier and replacements in our home kitchen sink (pass-through faucet) for 25 years. Industrial strength. Note— must buy brass elbow fittings to attach water lines. A trip to the local hardware store BEFORE you start, folks. That is all.

I work for a plumbing company and we recommend this to our customers. I bought this along with the H300 cartridge and paid to have it installed. Nice to drink out of the faucet once again. Check with your plumber before purchase.

I have had the Everpure filters under two sinks for years without issues. About a 6 months ago I remodeled my kitchen and threw out the old version and installed a new Everpure water filtration system with theQL3 head and H104 filters. This system even from new leaked a bit from the O rings. I tried cleaning it and lubing the O-rings with food grade silicone. Still leaked a bit so I had to put a pan underneath to catch the small leak. Then after a few days the leak stopped, possibly because mineral deposits filled the gap.So fast forward 6 months when I replaced the filter and it started leaking again. Called Pentair and they said it was likely mineral deposits. Cleaned the QL3 head and lubed the O-rings but still leaked. Desperate I bought and installed a new QL3 head at a cost of $58, , cleaned the O-rings, lubed them and it's leaking again. Will not buy this brand any more, it seems their quality has gone down a lot! Unreliable and could damage your cabinets and kitchen. Do not trust it.

I picked up the required hose fittings etc.. this is barebones but much less expensive than the kit with all the parts.

The valve assembly arrived promptly but did not include the collar for the filter. In the ad photo it shows the entire assembly as one piece. Now I need to find the other piece for this to finish the install which huge pain and will take another week.
